Garmin n��vi 200 - GPS navigator - automotive 3.5"

This is a fast-acting, accurate GPS with it's own battery allowing it to be used on hikes, walks and canoe/kayak type trips as well as driving. While it does store a number of previous destinations, it does not allow you to label or name them for easy finding, reference and retrieval. For the bux though, it's hard to beat. It's compact size is another benefit.

This was our first GSP and since we didn't want to spend alot of money, works well for the cost. However, the one drawback is although it has text to speech, it doesn't call out the exact street name. It only indicates to turn right or left. If you're unsure of where you're going and you're alone, you need to glance at the device to see what the name of the street is before making that turn, especially if there are 2 streets really close together. Works great if someone else is in the car with you and can tell you the name of the street without you taking your eyes off the road. If you're ok with just the basic turn right or left directions, then this is the product for you. We'll be purchasing a more expensive one next year that actually calls out, "turn right on Smith Street" instead of just "turn right".

I had this item up and running in just a few minutes and could not wait to get it on the road. My first attempt was to a familiar place so I could judge its efficiency. It got me there easily but told me the address was on the right side of the street when it was actually on the left. I purposely took a wrong turn and it recalculated to get me back on track. Liked it.

If you are hard up for cash and need directions, then by all means, this GPS will get you from point A to point B, but the maps really need updated. If you type in a store this will bring up stores that may have been gone for years. We were looking for a CVS store and it took us to one that had been torn down for over 4 years, so the maps really need updated. I dont like to complain especially for the price I paid but luckily we were just trying it out and we really knew where we were going or we would have never made it to the CVS because it was gone. One neat option is how it auto updates when you pass up or take a wrong turn. Hope this review helps.

I bought this for my 22 yr old daughter and she absolutely LOVES it. It does not say the Street name although it will talk and when it says to turn right (in 500 feet for example) it will show the street name in large lettering. The map is always very bright and you can tell if there are parks or waterways nearby, etc. It is portable and can be used in pedestrian as well as biking mode I believe she told me. Pink is her favorite color so of course that is cool. Can also change the languages which she now has it on British English because she likes the British accent (but also American, Spanish, Portuguese, etc I believe she told me). She also says you can download a different car to it (it comes with a blue car pic) but she wants to download maroon one instead since that is her car color but she told me you can make it a pick-up truck for instance (download it). She uses it all the time when she is in the car. She also told me it was "idiot proof" which I guess is a good thing.
