Garmin nvi 255W - GPS navigator - automotive 4.3 in widescreen

Overall, it's a decent product. However, the speaker is not the best quality, as it almost sounds like it's cracked. The voice prompts and street names are good, but come at you extremely fast. The tracking is very good in both daytime and nightime. For the price, it can't be beat. And, very user friendly.

Purchased 3 of these 2 years ago (about twice the price back then) and decided to buy a gps for another family member this year. After reading the reviews on other models, this one still had the best reviews in this price range and I was satisfied with the performance and reliability of ours. So we have 3 of these in our household. This package with the USB cord (the original did not come with the cord or dashboard mount) and other accessories is an outstanding value for the money! The person I gave this gift to actually received another GPS for Christmas too but opted to keep this model and return the Garmin 1300 model because of the good reviews on the Nuvi 255W across the internet. Only complaint is the high price of updating!

So far I really like this product. it was delivered on time, all items there. This is my first GPS, however I was exposed to some more fancy ones through my friends, but I decided to go with this product after reading many reviews. If you are the person that doesn't need all the "extra" fitures like traffic updates or blue tooth this product is for you. i also like that it comes with 2 car value bunddle and for a good price.

Just received the nuvi 255W auto travel GPS. Had to try it out immediately. Plugged in the auto DC adapter, connected it to the GPS and followed very easy setup procedures. Loaded in a house address in a nearby town and was amazed at how quickly I could do this programming. All programming is done by "touch screen"!!! Ready to go in about three mins. The GPS route out of my town was not the same as I would have selected but I got out of town as GPS stated. GPS display is very informative and audio directions are given for each turn and distance to each turn. FANTASTIC!!! When I arrived at my programmed address, audio announced exactly which house on the street. When I left the nearby town from a different location, I programmed in my address for return. The GPS suggested I return via the interstate. Not wanting to go the GPS direction I decided to turn off of the GPS route and see what the GPS would do. Within seconds of turning away from the suggested route the GPS announced "recalculating" and I was on a new route. Fantastic!!! I arrived home using the alternate route. For the money and based on this short evaluation, I don't think you could get a better auto travel GPS.

I did a lot of research when it came to selecting a GPS unit. This unit was well rated and had excellent reviews. I have used the unit several times and love it. It has superb screen resolution, a user friendly interface and a wide assortment of features. I highly recommend this unit to anyone considering purchasing a GPS. The two car bundle is a great value and a smart choice for a two car household.
