GE - 24.7 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator - High Gloss Black

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, so good. My new GE Refrigerator/Freezer was installed about 1 week ago. I have had no problems. It's roomy and quiet. I'm very pleased with my purchase. Hopefully, it will last as long as my old GE Refrigerator/Freezer, although I know it may not.

I previously owned an LG French door refrigerator that died at five years old, just a few months beyond the five-year extended warranty. When I had to replace it, a friend recommended this refrigerator. I bought it and loved it when I moved and needed to replace the refrigerator in my new home. I bought the same exact model again as this refrigerator has proven to be very reliable!!

We love our new fridge. It is less cubic ft than our old “side by side” fridge. It seems like it holds more plus it's easier to see what's inside. The freezer is on the bottom. So you don't loose as much space in the fridge/freezer. It will actually hold a full size pizza in the freezer. The ice dumps into a tray. So no worries about ice falling out on to the floor. It would do that on our old fridge. We also had water leaking out of our old water dispenser on the other fridge. Having the water dispenser inside the fridge will hopefully make that less worrisome for my wife. Thanks GE, I think we will keep this one for a Long time. We also got it for about 1/2 the price of our old refrigerator that was from a different mfg.

Design is overall good. Frig capacity and layout are good except the large draw at the bottom. You havre to have both doors open to access the drawer. The freezer design is poor. The shelf should not come out when you open the door, and it makes much noise, and we have to push it back all of the time. Last complaint is the when the compressor is running and at other times it make to much noise.

It looks big inside but the shelves on the door, which I do like, make the inside small. There is no designated place for eggs or butter. The fruit and vegetable bins are not deep enough. Can't even get a head of lettuce in them. I like that you can see the temperature when you open the door. Haven't connected the ice maker but was able to turn it off. As for the freezer space it's okay. It doesn't run a lot but does make noise when it does. I think they all do that. I ordered it in white and cost a lot more than others.
