[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] we are loving the unit... it replaced a midea ushaped in window unit of similar size. We liked the midea, and had the opportunity to return it under warranty due to their mold issue. We were going to replace with another midea, but in researching found this one which is just a better design. Also U shaped, but with the u going down instead of up. Three major advantages to this: you get more window space when unit is in place, MUCH easier to install, and you have the ability to more easily open your window when you want to. We found that the unit had similar sound benefit to the u shaped style, with most noisy part of the conditioner outside of the room (so pretty quiet) Very happy with purchase, and would recommend for those considering window mounted units.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The unit is very good and very quiet. There is one feature I don't like and that is the side water filter. It is in the house and I have to manually open and drain it every two days. Its messy. Now, I have a problem with it because I inadvertently replaced the inner piece incorrectly and now cannot remove it at all. The outer cap leaks onto the floor. Why put that filter inside?

At first, I was afraid it sat to low below the window. However, because the air vents are up on top of the unit, the air flow was perfect. The room was cooled very fast and efficient without blowing across our dinning table. Very happy with this design.

The unit took the recommended hour to install. The controls are extremely easy to use, it cools very well, is very quiet (except from some sill vibration...GE can't help that) and appears to be super energy efficient. The only reason for not getting five stars was it appears this may have been a refurbished unit, there were dead bugs on the bottom of the packaging and on the bottom of the inside of the unit in the back. There was also a bracket on the inside back portion that shows sign of rust. I don't have the energy to pursue as the unit is essentially running fine.

This unit was a piece of cake to install. It runs quietly and does a great job of cooling our outdoor kitchen. Would definitely purchase again. The remote control makes it easy to access if the unit is up high or behind clutter. I don't know about the energy usage but it is worth whatever it is.
