These are very nice. my work gave these out years ago and i misplaced it. I tried sone other cheap options but ultimately purchased this exact same one again. the tools lock in place and it has usable, functioning tools unlike some multitools that claim "x" amount of tools.
The Gerber Suspension NXT 15-Tool Multi-Tool, is an Awesome Multi-Tool, that even comes with a clip, so you can wear it on your belt, to keep it handy at all times. I keep mine in my vehicle glove box, and it seems like I pull it out to use it for something, every couple of days. Mostly I use it for the pliers, the screw drivers, the knife, and surprisingly the scissors, but I have also used it to quick measure something, and open a bottle too. It also has a file, and a few other useful tools too. The best part to me, is that it folds everything into the size of a large pocket knife, which makes it very easy to stick in your pocket, and keep handy, when you are working on projects. It seems to be very well made, very sturdy, and most of the tools lock into place, so they don't move or close, when you are using them. I am very happy with this multi-tool. So if you are looking for a multi-tool, to keep in your tool box, or in the kitchen junk drawer, or in your vehicle, or even to wear on your belt using the attached clip, I think that you would be very happy, if you chose the Gerber Suspension NXT 15-Tool Multi-Tool.
I got this figuring it'll be handy to have, "Just in case." Then two days later, while riding my bicycle I got a flat tire. As I removed the tire to replace the tube, I found a tiny piece of sharp metal stuck in the tire. It was the size of a broken staple but super hard, sharp and wedged in there and unwilling to be removed with just finger power. Thankfully, I had this Multi-tool in my backpack. Opening the pliers, I grabbed this tiny piece of offending metal and tugged, tugged, tugged, tugged, and tugged...and finally it relented and came out. Without removing the metal, there would've been no point of putting a new tube in because that metal would've punctured that one too! Without this tool I would've been in big trouble without limited options. So, this multi-tool has proved useful. I might not use this everyday, but I carry it everyday just in case I do need it.
First I wish that packaging contained a manual of ALL of the features that are worked into this Multi-tool. The knife is sharp, so careful when opening it. Even though tool is small, it has BIG features contained into this compact Multi-tool. All the 'tools' seem useful and very functional. I think I've found another gift idea for several people. I'm now checking out their other Multi-tool offers to have another 'toy' that's very useful and functionable in my toolbox.
I was somewhat apprehensive opening the package. I have owned Gerbers since a beautiful Magnum, purchased in the late 70's. Like many others, I had heard about quality issues since they relocated their manufacturing facilities to China. Such is not the case. This is not your mini combo tool. It is hefty, and fully fits the hand. It is made for real work, not cleaning your fingernails. It comes with a variety of tools. First, a nice blade, serrated near the rear. Opening it, there is a nice needle-nose pliers and handy scissors, tightly joined. Other offerings include a combo flat-head screwdriver with bottle opener-can opener; a broad flat-head driver with a groove for wire stripping; an allen-head screwdriver; a fat-head screwdriver with ruler and file edges, and a scoring blade. The case is skeletonized metal, with a handy belt clip. A great feature is that all blades can be positively locked, preventing accidental cuts or finger pinches. The only downside is that, due to tight fit, the blades can be hard to open, as there are no fingernail grooves to assist in opening. Overall, a good all-round tool.
