I have made several quilts with my Go and Go Baby die cutters, so I was happy to be able to purchase the Go Big cutter. Tonight I took Mom out for dinner and when we came home I set up all my supplies and started cutting away! It was around 10:00 PM when I started and by 2:00 AM I had finished cutting enough fabric to make 42 blocks using my new die and cutter. It was fast, easy, and fun! Mama was amazed. She said she didn't know they made anything like that. I think I will be making a lot more quilts.
I was a little disappointed with this die. It could have been designed better by adding a few more cutters of the pieces that you need more of. But despite having to cut 2 pieces many times, the pieces are so well cut it is a easy to sew and makes a beautiful block.
Have cut all the melons, arc pieces, ends, and middle section on my AccuQuilt Go Big machine. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT! Wished assembling would go as well for the quilt! Hee hee! It has made my quilt top easier to assemble piece by piece! It would have taken me a lifetime to cut all the pieces so I feel great owning my Accu machine! Thanks!
I have tried all the various methods for making half square triangles, and no matter how carefully I think I have cut my pieces, and no matter how accurately I think I have sewn my quarter inch seams, and regardless of whether or not I have used steam in my iron, I have to trim them to assure they are the perfect size. And sometimes I need many many HSTs and trimming takes a long time. And, it's boring. Enter accuquilt. I still need my perfect seam, and I still don't use steam, but I rarely need to trim. There aren't even dog ears! Another plus--when making large numbers of flying geese its effective and less fabric wasteful to use the four at a time method (requires the most trimming for me) but then all your geese are the same. Sometimes I want the sky triangles to be different colors, Accuquilt easily accommodates that. And if I make them the old tried and true method with a rectangle and two squares I have trouble throwing away all those cut off pieces. Now all I need is for Accuquilt to make them in more sizes...
I'm no stranger to Drunkard's path and the old method of cutting. I love the ease of cutting these pieces with a Go Die! Curved piecing is easy and those notches makes short work of putting this block together. Thank you! Thank you! I love this die!
