Easy to put together and it works great. Have been on the treadmill daily and already lost 8 pounds with exercise and watching how much I eat. I am 6'4" and like to lay a hand on siderail when changing settings and they are so low I can barely get a finger tip on them without bending while jogging.

This review is not a reflection of Wal-Mart. When I picked up the treadmill the sales associates were very helpful. Gold Gym however has a long way to go in the customer service area. I had to have a friend help in the assembly of the treadmill. We made it to the left upright and the one whole on the bottom was threaded at an angle not allowing the longer screw pc to go in far enough to be stable. I called Gold Gym on 6/21/09 and requested another up right. It took from 6/22/09 until 8/7/09 for the part to be received. I was told on two separate occasions it would be 2-3 weeks. Finally on the third call another associate made me aware that customer service does not have a way to know when the plant will have the new parts ready. They did offer to have my warranty start on the day the part was rec'd instead of the original purchase date. Well the part came I began to assemble it again today on 8/8/09 and low and behold this part is worse than the last. The holes punched out are the wrong size, they're to small and they're not threaded so here sit yet again not able to use this product. I won't be purchasing another Golds Gym product again.

Got this t/m shipped site to store, got there quickly and pick up was easy. Managed to get it into my home by myself but don't recommend it for more than a few stairs. Assembly was surpisingly straightforward, good instructions (rare indeed) - again assembled myself but took some doing, third hand would speed it up, took me less than two hours though. Unit seems high quality, well cushioned, intuitive controls, fan is nice if slightly noisy on high. very satisfied to date, I weigh 190, run maybe 15 to 20 miles a week on it, very happy with it, feels like it will last, even pretty quiet so far. works well throughout pace and incline range which exceeds waht I'll be using ... I saw the Gold's model-550 marked down to $500 at store, paid 580 for this, might have gone w/ 550 at that price point, but all in all I am very satisfied - this thing is nicer than the ones at the gym I was using, seems commercial grade. not sure about accuracy of indicated pace / distance, but maybe thats wishful thinking ; ) Have a happy day!

We used the site to store shipping option and it shipped quickly and without any broken pieces. Setup was a breeze. It took 30 min tops with two people....and that was hardly necessary. (only needed to lift the machine) It works wonderfully. We needed a treadmill for light running at home as we have three kids and don't have the time to make it to the gym. I don't reccomend getting this machine if you are planning on walking at very slow speeds for recovery. The slower speeds (2 and under) while they work ok, the 'airglide' tread works slightly less well (barely negligable, but if you were using it at this speed all of the time I could see it getting frustrating).

I was a little hesitant to buy the lower priced model but I am so glad I did. We din't have to spend thousands on a good treadmill. My huband weighs just over 200 and It can handle him at a slow jog just fine. It has everything we need and performs great. The automatic incline works great and it goes plenty fast. We are very happy.
