Good Ideas IMP-C50-GRY Impressions Bark 50 Rain Barrel, Gallon, Gray

Sadly the item arrived broken and apparently there is no way to get a replacement part for the spigot. No real options to solve the issue so it's now useless. I would also say that watching the rain barrel ""in action"" I will report that the opening for the water is too small, so water spills on to the top and over the barrel. So the design isn't great. Unfortunately can't give this a good rating.

I noticed someone had problems with growing flowers in the top of the barrel because of too much water collecting. My husband solved that problem by tucking a rag into the soil and letting it hang off the back of the barrel, out of sight. Excess water drips out of the rag, so the flowers aren't in a bog. Works quite well.

I bought this product because it was one of the most attractive & affordable rain barrels, plus it comes in a variety of colors. I bought it in terra cotta. The problem is how to link the barrels. My contractor says you cannot & the customer service rep at Good Ideas says you can. I think the contractor is probably right, however, when I received the product in the mail, they were POORLY PACKAGED! When I tried to drop them off today at FEDEX, they would not take them in the original packaging. FedEx wanted $34 per each rain barrel to send it off. IT SIMPLY IS NOT WORTH the TROUBLE!!! I will try to do it myself with You Tube as Good Idea has not been able to provide me with sufficient information. They really need to design a 100 gallon rain barrel as in Los Angeles (which is a very big city with lots of construction that is on-going) there is a requirement for rain barrels in multiples of 100. It would save space to have fewer barrels and to not have to link them. I had wanted one not made of plastic, but wood rots and ceramic is too heavy and comes in smaller units. Next time, when I work on the house, I will put in a pond (an alternative to a rain barrel).

I love the way this looks next to the house. I will be buying a pump to get more pressure for a hose hookup but works like a charm and use the collected water every day. If you are concerned about mosquitoes use the planter on top of the barrel for mosquito repellent plants (such as lemongrass or geraniums)

We bought this rain barrel to put in the front of the house. It had to look nice, and it does. The light gray compliments the foundation and porch accents. It's also a nice size to accommodate the large potted plants on our porch without having to haul water from our other rain barrel out back. Just waiting for some rain.
