I purchased this car seat to use as my travel car seat after my daughter got too tall for the lightweight Cosco car seat we had been using. I tried to find information about people's experiences with this seat on planes and couldn't find much, so hopefully this will help if that's what you're looking for! What we learned while traveling with this car seat: 1. It does not fit through the security scanners and has to be manually checked by a TSA agent. 2. For being such a substantial car seat, it is still pretty lightweight. I was able to carry it one-handed after exiting the plane all the way up the ramp to the boarding area. 3. I was not able to use it rear-facing on the plane, even sitting in Economy Plus on United, because it was hitting the seat in front of us (but I did have the height up a couple notches higher than the lowest setting). You would not be able to fit this rear-facing in United standard economy. Also, getting the seat from the aisle to the window seat is a little tricky due to the size if the row isn't empty when you go to put it in (i.e. your toddler is standing in the row with you waiting for you to get situated). 4. This seat fits forward-facing beautifully. It's narrow enough to fit easily between the arm rests on a United Airbus A320. 5. The dedicated belt path is such a great feature. My daughter was so comfortable without having the airplane seatbelt poking her in the back the whole flight. Trying to open the belt flap inside the belt path is a little tricky after you tighten it down. There's just enough room to pop it open when you go to remove the seat. 6. Installing this into the rental car was super easy and was probably the fastest car seat install I've ever done. My daughter was able to rear-face in the rental car and was very comfortable riding in this car seat during our trip. Overall, I recommend this car seat for a (air) travel car seat. The only exception would be if your child is still small enough that they must use the car seat in rear facing mode on an airplane. This car seat is well-built, comfortable, and sturdy.
The car seat itself is pretty good. It's roomy and the straps seem comfortable. However, the removable cushions came stained as if the product had been used (or possibly happened during manufacturing). Also, it is a bit more difficult to tighten than my other Graco removable carseat. But for the price, not bad.
I thought it might be too big for my 10 month old (she grew out her infant car seat faster than all my children), especially because the picture looks like a preschooler could fit. But she fit in it perfect! Easy to install and cup holder is a great bonus! Fabric is nice (I preferred the gray). I honestly dont have nearly as hard of a time in the car with her. She loves sitting up and sitting forward. You can also adjust for smaller children and this can work like an infant car (lean back) I like that its a little higher than my sons other car seat because she can see better out the window. I catch her looking at me all the time. Best value for your buck!
These are fine car seats. Purchased them on a black friday deal. We have several other safety 1st carseats that we absolutely love. The padding in these are fine, they only have 1 cup holder, which is fine and the design is fine. All around its just a fine carseat. If you dont need all of the other bells and whistles then this will suit you perfectly! Dont get me wrong, it still feels safe and sturdy but its just a tad bit less in every department than other more expensive car seats. These worked for our needs since we needed cheaper seats to put in the grandparents cars for our kids for when they take them instead of transferring our car seats out of our cars all the time. For that purpose, these work great!
I bought this as a 2nd car seat For my husbands truck. It fits well and I mostly bought it because I love my extend to fit car seat (but I wanted something a little less costly) I purchased this and it's okay. I would say if you want something safe and on the cheaper end then get it, because it will do the job. The buckle at the crotch seems short and digs into my toddlers thighs ( and she's on the smaller side) Overall it does the job. If it's not your primary car seat get it. If it is and If you can afford a few more bucks get extend to fit it's much more comfortable for my baby.
