Great Value Blueberries, 16 oz (Frozen)

I have never had frozen blueberries before, wasn't really impressed with the flavor when added to yogurt or cereal. They didn't have much flavor compared to a fresh blueberry. I made some blueberry muffins to use them up and they did taste pretty good in the muffins.

I a retired widow, fixed income and live alone. The convenience of frozen has allowed me to eat better and less waste. Often my fruits and veggies go bad before I can eat them. These blueberries I use in my oatmeal with a T. of flax and chia seeds I tend to make a batch of oatmeal for three days and just toss the blueberries in with other fruits. Makes a great start in the morning. I hear that frozen fruit is frozen at its peak ripeness which works best for me.

The berries have ice crystals on them after opening, resealing, then at next use. They are mushy after thawing. Both issues affect the dish in which they are being used. It waters down my thick yogurt and they don't hold up well in muffins. But they are half the price of other brands. You get what you pay for.

I'm so glad I tried Walmart's frozen blueberries. The price is lower than any other brands of frozen blueberries and I wasn't sure what to expect. They are DELICIOUSLY sweet with premium texture. No need to pick through them for the best ones. I have been repurchasing for many months (as well as my mom) and haven't experienced any inconsistency in quality. They're comparable to the sweetest fresh from the garden blueberries I've had. Great for smoothies, thawed in yogurt and I even snack on them frozen. Super impressive product and can't beat the price.

Quality varies somewhat depending on where they are imported from, but the price is good, and the quality varies at all vendors. I have them AT LEAST once a day. What needs to improve is the supply chain, and/or the ordering process. As with many other food items, they are too often out of stock... I am looking forward to being asked about the quality/variety of fresh produce, selection by on-site shoppers who prepare the deliveries on which I depend as a non-driver, and condition of items when delivered. THOSE ARE AREAS IN NEED OF IMPROVEMENT!!!
