Hart is continuing to impress me with the variety and quality of their tool line. This pair of long nose pliers is a great size to have on hand in a garage. I use this pair for holding onto bolts and tiny bits when I'm using a wire brush to clean rust. I also use it as a clamp to hold the fuel line closed on my lawn mower when I service the carb. It's a little rougher than a similar pair of vice-grip brand pliers but is a bit easier to open and close. I like the jaw configuration on this set better than most since it's flat and grippy at the same time.

These long nose locking pliers are handy for gripping smaller objects in narrow spaces suitable for jobs such as pulling out R-pins and loosen tight knots. They can also be used for clamping and holding a thin workpiece. The jaws on these pliers are a little less than 2 inches long. They have teeth for a better grip and also have a built-in wire cutter at the throat for cutting smaller gauge wires. For gripping and clamping, squeezing the handles together will lock the jaws on an object. Further adjustment of the spacing of the jaws can be made using the small rotating knob at the back of the tool for optimum grip. These pliers can properly lock the grip on an object up to 3/4 of an inch thick. To release the jaws, there is a separate blue lever built into the handle which instantly disengages them when it is pressed. I would have liked the tips of the nose to be thinner/flatter to get into even tighter spaces but other than that, I found these pliers to work as intended. The locking mechanism is easy to use and provides a very secure grip.
