It works really well. We used it for posting our property and this stapler made the job go smooth.
I received this stapler in the mail and instantly liked it. What a useful tool. Well, the surprises showed up when it came to use it. Needless to say, it came with no instructions. Instructions could have been useful. You have to get the right staples for it too. The common Arrow 606 will not fit. Instead you have to find the Arrow #508. You have to be a little careful as they are also called T50 and I have found several stable widths under the T50 number. Next surprise was where you are loading the stapler. I managed to load it the wrong way and spent the next 30 minutes to clear the jam it caused. I use to loading a stapler from the back, not so with this one. You pull the back out as usual, then you load the staples underneath it in the front. After doing so, it worked. You have to hit it rather hard in order to get the staple fully into the wood when you use it. Other than that, it is a BIG improvement over the staple guns I have used in the past.
Feels sturdy and well made. Finding properly fitting staples was easy. Loading the staples was easy. Closing the unit after loading the staples, not so easy. I've not had success in getting it to work properly. I had high hopes for this tool and several DIY projects lined up for its use. I'm not super happy with this product. I'll remain patient and hopefully a novice like me can get it to work.
This HART Stapler Hammer Tacker is well-made and comfortable to use. It accepts multiple sizes of staples between ¼ inch and ½ inch. The all-metal construction makes it suitable for using on commercial construction sites for installing insulation and carpet padding but we also use it around the house for repairs on fencing, chicken coops, and replacing tar paper on out-buildings. It does take a lot of force to completely drive ½” staples into wood but this Hart stapler performed equally well to another name brand hammer stapler in terms of depth of insertion. Not a single jam occurred with this HART stapler after driving several hundred staples on a jobsite in a day. The stapler is very easy to load and has a viewing window to indicate the number of staples remaining. One of the best features of this hammer stapler is that the piece you pull back to load the stapler is firmly attached to the tool so it can't go flying out the back of the stapler and the staples won't fall out if it doesn't get securely latched by chance. Overall, this hammer stapler is comfortable to use, easy to load, accepts multiple sizes of staples, and the construction is strong enough for both residential and commercial use.
This HART Staple Hammer Tacker couldn't have come at a better time. I recently purchased a fixer-upper and knew it would come in handy for unruly carpet padding and carpet edges as well as for re-installing certain areas of insulation. It's sturdy, lightweight, and has a good grip. It works great. I even had the professional carpet installer give it a try and he agreed it worked really well. I think it will work great for stapling carpet strips to some garage steps as well.
