Havahart Easy Set Rabbit and Skunk Animal Trap

I received the Havahart Easy Set Rabbit and Skunk Animal Trap for an unbiased review. First thing I will say, it really is extremely easy. It came in a box completely assembled. If you need something and don't want to mess with taking time to put it together you can purchase this and put it straight out in your yard or wherever you need to catch a critter. The instructions were short; however, they give you a website and YouTube address to watch a short video as well. All you have to do to set the trap is to pull the handle back. My handle would not lock down once I pulled it back. After several attempts I realized I needed to loosen the sensitivity knob in order for the handle to be able to be pulled back and stay put against the top of the cage (as pictured). Once I figured out that I stuck my fingers in the cage and pressed down the metal piece inside and boom the door snapped shut. It closes very fast and no critter should be able to turn in time to jump out. To open the cage back up you simply pull the handle back the same way you do to set the trap. The sensitivity knob allows you to adjust the inside metal step piece to trap the animal based on their weight. I played with it and it seems that the sensitivity didn't change a ton, but it definitely adjusts. I added a Gatorade bottle to my picture so you can see sizing. This cage should fit a small or medium raccoon or an opossum or similar sized or smaller critters and animals. It is sturdy metal as well. I am very pleased with this and I definitely recommend it.

This is a neat trap that you could use to re-route a unwanted animal's such as a skunk, rabbit, armadillo and other small animals. I got this trap hoping to catch a skunk that keeps getting under my house. Once I get it I am not sure what I will do with it.

Was trying to find a solution for a suspected raccoon in my trash can and this was available so I jumped on it. I am very glad I did. After reading the instructions I set it up along the back of the garage where I keep my garbage cans and sure enough after a few days I had a visitor. I was able to release him in the field, spray off the trap, and reset it. It is sturdily built, very simple to use, and it works. May end up grabbing a few more to put along my back fence to deter other would be invaders.

This trap has come in handy and is very easy to use and set up. We put it out to catch a skunk that was in our yard everynight and the very first night we caught him and were able to go an release him without any danger to himself. I was amazed at how easy it is to use and there is no harm to the animal. Although I only removed the skunk do to our dogs running out at night and being afraid of them getting sprayed again. Normally I would not have cared about him being there. Definetly wil and have referred to neighbors and coworkers. We were able to release the little fellow and now have set it up to make sure he has no friends left here. Highly recommend.

This is the easiest small animal trap I have ever used. We needed to catch some baby raccoons and this worked perfectly. There wasnt any assembly, I just loosened the black knobs an pulled back on the handle. That's it, set. It doesn't require a lot of muscle and it doesn't take a great amount of pressure on the trip inside that closes the trap. So light animals like rabbits and such would be caught as well as heavier animals.
