Hefty Slider Storage Bags, Gallon Size, 15 count (Pack of 2)

I received a box of the Hefty Gallon sized storage bags with a slider zipper style closure to review through the spark reviewer program. Now I have never tried the gallon storage bags by any brand because they are made of a thinner material than its freezer bag counterpart, but I was amazed at just how thin the material really was. I've always assumed that a Hefty product would be a sturdy product but not so with the storage bag quality. They weren't as thin as a sandwich style baggie but pretty darn close. I cannot recommend storing anything that might have a sharp edge or point in these bags as it would poke right through. They may be useful in keeping fresh veggies in the refrigerator, but what a sec, those foods already come with their own baggies right from the store, so why would you use a storage bag for that. As far as I am concerned the zipper closure is just a fancy gadget the if it goes wrong, it really goes wrong and would render the bag virtually useless if it failed to seal correctly. It's press to seal counterparts might not be as fancy but they do get the job done and at a reduced cost. I for one would not spend my money on these baggies.

Hefty Slider Storage Bags are a fantastic item that helps you stay organized and it is also a great kitchen helper. I received the bags in the gallon size. This is a great size for food storage, for meat that goes into the freezer or other items you may want to freeze. It is also a great way to store dry items such as chips, cereal and even fruit. It keeps it fresh and easy to use by everyone old or young. The hefty slider storage bags also came in handy for small toy storage like Legos and Barbie doll items. I also put the storage bags to good use in my bathroom buy placing q tips and cotton balls in them for safe clean and easy us. I am also a crafter and they were awesome for storing my beads, needles, googly eyes and even my small bottles of fabric paint. The slider bags are also great for traveling for placing your lotions and things of that nature in before placing in your suitcase. The slider provides a very good air tight seas that ensures freshness and prevents spills and does not allow freezer burn. There are many ways to use these bags and I would purchase them and recommend them to everyone.

These Hefty gallon size slider storage bags are as advertised, a little thicker plastic and a sturdy “zipper”, that ensures good closure. Being budget conscious, the extra cost of these bags is a consideration for me. I will continue to use the less expensive, non-zipper bags for average everyday use and have these bags in reserve for times when better protection, ease of closure is essential, such as freezing foods.

I grew up in a thrifty house and the cheapest generic items is what was used and what I went on to use. I'm older now and convenience is the standard for me. My eyes aren't as good as they were and these bags have printed on them when they are in the closed position,right to left. You can hear the zipper closure and hear and feel a click when fully closed. I used these for storing all my packet of seasonings and sauces that don't store very well.I also used them for my lettuce and cabbage,putting a paper towel in each bag to keep dampness out and keep them crisp.It says on the box they can be used in the microwave by opening about an inch and putting a plate underneath,I didn't try that. The cost is about $0.40 a bag,worth it to me for ease of use,and saving me the time and frustrating of closing a bag securely. You can laugh but you'll grow older too!

We really like the Hefty Slider Storage Bags. The gallon size is perfect for larger food items as well as other things. There are numerous uses for these storage bags. They are fairly strong and durable. We really like how easy it is to close the zip lock bags. The bags keep food fresh much longer than other wraps or plastic containers. We will definitely buy the Hefty slider storage bags again.
