Hefty Slider Zipper Freezer Storage Bags, Quart, 15 Ct

I only have positive things to say about these Hefty Freezer Bags. I will admit I am guilty of purchasing the store brand imitation products and have suffered the consequences for doing so. However, that is why I have a basis and unbiased opinion of these Hefty bags. In my opinion and experience there is no other brand that holds up as well as this product. First, I have always been satisfied with the family of Hefty products. Whenever I needed a good strong bag, regardless of size, Hefty has always come through. I warn you it's not the cheapest product available but it will be the best. In particular these quart size freezer bags are well made. To be fair in my review I put solids, liquids, frozen items and warm items in these bags and they don't disappoint. They are strong enough for hot and cold, liquids and solids. The box is orange, colorful, easy to identify and well made. It has an indication on how to open the box to maximize storage space and for convenient dispense. I actually have a kitchen draw dedicated to the assortment of bags, aluminum foil and plastic foil that I use and this packaging fits well. I appreciate that this box is compact and well designed for product use and easy to dispense one bag at a time. I will admit I was skeptical of the zipper plastic closing mechanism. In my experience with imitation, inexpensive store brands this type of closure is weak and easily detaches. This has left me with no other choice but to throw out the bag as it is no longer useable when the plastic zip mechanism detaches from the bag. However, again, Hefty is a superior brand leader in bags, all types, garbage, storage, etc. The plastic mechanism used to open and seal the bag is well made, sturdy, slides easily and well on this storage bag. I will definitely not waste anymore money on the other brands on the market. Testing this product convinced me that trying to save some change or letting a sale price influence my decision comes out more expensive in the long run. Last point is the product effectiveness. These bags are well made. They really keep the stored product fresh. They seal so well there is no detection of odor. No leaks and nothing spills out if turned over. I'm really happy with this product, it's presentation, usefulness and quality. I definitely have already recommended and shared my opinion with friends, family and coworkers. This is a product I will continue to use.

I do like a good freezer bag and Hefty has made one. The bag itself appears to be a wee bit thicker so it keeps freezer burn at bay. The zip lock is sturdier and seals the bag tightly. I realize that these bags are specifically made for freezer use, but I like to use them for other things as well. I keep parts for all sorts of things in bags with a zip lock. These bags make it so much easier to locate parts for a particular item. I have a drawer full of Hefty bags of all sizes. However, I find the freezer bags to hold up better when the parts are sharp. I know Hefty didn't make these bags for such things, but I cannot help it if I have found another use for them. The bags do not come apart and the lock seals the bag so I never worry about losing the little parts. I do not like using those bags where you have to match up the little track in order to close them and prevent whatever is inside from falling out. This doesn't happen with these Hefty bags. You can't go wrong with them, regardless of whatever you use them for. I highly recommend the quart size freezer bags.

I received this product as part of the Wal-Mart Spark Review program. I use a lot of freezer bags and regular bags, and I really do like the slider ones better then the zipper ones. I have a hard time telling if the zipper ones are closed. This slider bag is very easy to use and it has the word closed on the bag so you know if the bag is actually closed. Some of the other slider bags I have used in the past leaked some around the slider part, but this one didn't leak. The plastic is a nice thickness, and there is a place to write on the front. I really like this feature, so you know what you are putting in the freezer. The slider make s it easy to close, even one handed if need be. When I got the product the box was smashed but the bags had no holes or defects in them. They are really tough bags. I haven't had them long enough to see if they will keep out freezer burn, but with the thickness of the bag it should. The feature where you can write on the front is not a new one, but the area where you write seems to be better then some of the other brands. You can actually see the writing and the pen doesn't just skip or slide along like some others. I really do like thesae bags and would recommend them to others.

The quart size bag with zipper closure is the perfect size to use for my travel needs; this freezer bag is made of thicker plastic than the normal quart bags, and stands up better when filled with my small liquid bottles and toothpastes, cosmetics, etc. I also use one bag to corral my cell phone, the cords, etc., when going through security. This is not to say that this sturdy bag isn't great to use for food to store in the freezer! I usually slip in burger patties or chicken breasts, and fine they protect meats from freezer burn. An all around good solution for small items in or outside the fridge!

The strength of the plastic on this product is very thick, compared to other freezer bags I've tried in the past. I make spaghetti sauce in large amounts so I can freeze it in batches to use at another time. I poured the cooled sauce into 3 of the Hefty freezer bags and when I took one out to heat up for dinner, it was easy for the sauce to slide out of the bag. I have tried using plastic containers with lids that I thought would protect the contents from freezer burn, but they never seemed to work. My spaghetti sauce always came out of the freezer with ice crystals forming on the top, and leftover meats always came out of the containers with ugly freezer burns. By the time I cut off the ends of the meat with the freezer burns, I had only a small amount of meat left over to use. I always buy large amounts of ground meats, so I can freeze smaller amounts separately. The same thing happens with those - freezer burn again, no matter how good I think the seals or lids will prevent that from happening. I really liked the Hefty Quart Size Freezer Bags, because the plastic is thicker than most other freezer bags, and the double edge seal works quite well. No freezer burn - hooray! I feel comfortable using this product because of the quality, and the zip top seems to work better than other bags with so-called "seals". The Hefty bags really lock in the flavors of the food and preserves them well. I would recommend using this product.
