I've been buying and wearing these boots for at least 13 years. When I started buying them, they were the best value on the market, easily exceeding expectations and durability standards. They outlasted Timberland Pro's on a construction site, and worked very well for years wearing them in a kitchen as a short order cook. Unfortunately, over the years, the manufacturer of this brand has changed, and with each iteration, the quality and value has gone down further and further. There was one exception -- the worst manufacturer of all, somewhere in 2011, when the soles were made so poorly they would split within a month. The current vintage of boots lasts comfortably under light use only about 3 months, unlike the 9 months to 1 year of the 2009 boots. I received two pair for Christmas 2012. They are tighter than they used to be (I'm 37 -- surely my foot has not grown) and don't have the same quality or nearly the same comfort. The ankle support is practically non-existent. These "waterproof" boots are now waterproof to a lower level, as the previously-attached tongue is now hanging loose lower in the boot. Please Wal-Mart, stop changing the manufacturer. Go back to the 2009-era manufacturer and charge $60 per pair if you must, they were worth every penny. But stop sacrificing quality to keep the price low. These used to be the best boots around. I still have yet to find a better "value" alternative, but now that the ankle support has me feeling like I'm wearing sneakers, I think it's time to look a little harder. Overall, I would recommend saving your money on this boot and buying something of better quality. Such a shame, too, because that means that you can't buy any Wal-Mart boots -- these are by FAR the best boots they make. Maybe soon they will switch to a better manufacturer. Pass on these and go get yourself a better pair of boots elsewhere, if you can afford it.

The wrong size was delivered. So, I have no recommendations. I ordered a wide width and a medium width arrived. I am NOT going to try again. Thanks, anyway!

Instead of spending over 100 dollars on the big brand names, thought I'd give these a shot. Fit was good, boots are comfortable. Used them in water situations and feet didn't get wet. For the price of the big name boots, you can get a couple pair of these and have money left over to get hard hat and other gear.

Ive tried payless rugged outback, kmart Texas steers, wrangler, and Walmart brahmas but find the Herman survivors to be superior to all.the contractor offers style ,and comfort at a reasonable price.
