I bought these because I need protective footwear for my job that keep my feet dry. The first thing I noticed was the poor quality shoe (boot) laces. The outer covering of the fist one let go just before the 2 month mark. The second one did the same at about 4 months. The stitching at the base of the laces near the toe started separating around the 5-6 month range. It has been just about a year now of about 75% daily wear. I stepped in a shallow (1/2" of water) puddle yesterday & my feel were soaked the rest of the day. I turns out that the lugs on the soles are hollow so as soon as one is breached you have a leaking shoe. This also translates to not stopping a puncture to your foot if you step on a shard object the is very little there protecting your foot. I was fortunate to not step on such an item. Most of my use with these boot has been indoors on smooth floors, so this type of premature wear of the sloes is uncalled for.

We purchased these boots for my husband for work in construction. They were fine for the first month. We purchased them based on being waterproof. My husband is always coming home with wet feet when it is wet out. We will not buy these again. I didn't think they would only last a month.

I have had these boots (Herman Survivors, Tracer) for over 10 years and have recently bought another pair. A solid and comfortable boot. Can be used as work boots anywhere. Only one small problem: The shoe laces in the boots does not last long and they seem to cut on the eyelets of the boot. Getting stronger laces did the trick!! I highly recommend them.

Am looking to buy my third pair in about 2 years. Very comforable and last me about 10 months. I wear them everyday and am on my feet all day outside in the weather and they hold up very well. I have had other more expensive boots and have not been half as good but the problem seems to be now I am trying to get a pair and they are out of stock in all the Walmarts in my area and on-line so when I finally find them I guess will buy 2 pair. Only one small downfall is that the shoelaces that come with them don't last long so I always buy two extra pair with the boots for a couple bucs. Well worth it.

I have worn through 3 pairs of this boot's predecessor over the past 3 years of so and was happy with their comfort, look and durability for the price (about $55). This new model is about $20 cheaper if you buy them online but have soles that are hard as a rock and weird insoles that make it feel like you're walking on a blister. Also the tongue is now faced with ugly canvas instead of leather. I'd gladly pay the extra $20 for the old style but will not buy the new style again.
