I first want to say that again this product is made very well and durable. Definitely built to last. I love the motivating look of it. Looking like a fire truck is definitely motivating for small children. That alone will make them want to sit on it. It has a two stage system which I love, like a transition to an adult toilet. It starts as a foam ring that you sit on when it is in the fire truck. It has handles for safety and helping your child hold steady upon rising or sitting. It has a skid proof bottom which keep it from moving around even if your child is moving around while sitting on it. Once they master the first stage it has a removable trainer seat that fits right on the family toilet. It has a high pee shield to prevent mess and an easy lift out pot for emptying and cleaning. Overall it is motivating, safe and convenient and I love the two stage system that helps a child transition to an adult toilet.
I never in my life would have thought I would be saying a potty was adorable but, here I am, typing it and smiling as I do so. This is such a cute, and smart way to potty train! The moment I took it out of the box and put the pieces in place, I didn't even have to say a word, Our little Hero had himself planted firmly on the seat. Of course that lasted all of twenty seconds, then it became a lets see how this is put together.. Thank goodness it's a Hero potty chair! It sure went through the ringer. Potty training is so stressful and scary for a child, it's nice to have a chair that a child isn't afraid of or intimidated by. I know its just a potty chair but I am so impressed with how much thought went into the construction of this potty seat. Right down to the comfy foam ring so he wont know the joy of a cold toilet seat for some time. :) My favorite part is it's a grow with me type potty seat. As our little Hero's confidence grows, the potty will grow with him, going from training to setting atop the bowl itself. I highly recommend the Hero potty training system. Its adorable, its practical, and it does what you want it to do!
My grandson is 16 months old so we are trying to potty train him. While this potty has its good parts the bad seem to out weight them. The good part about this potty is my grandson loves it. It fits in a small area so it's out of the way of traffic in the bathroom. The plastic part that fits on the toilet is great. Fits nice and is sturdy. Unfortunately, the bad things about this potty are there are three pieces to this potty, the yellow guard, white plastic part that fits on the toilet later, and the Fire truck part. These pieces come apart easily. My grandson has it torn apart in seconds. The yellow pee guard is made of some sort of foam and can't be ripped easily. It can also be bent where it doesn't fit back on the potty right. It's hard to let my grandson enjoy and not be afraid of using this potty when he can easily tear it apart and being a boy rip the part he needs. We have to put it away so he won't play with it after each time we try and get him to go potty.
The First Years Hero In Training 2-Stage Potty System, looks like a fire truck so it is real cute, it came with a yellow foam rubber seat cushion which feels a little funny and everytime she gets up it moves, but that is alright. At first my grand daughter was afraid of it, when I was taking it out of the box, she ran away crying. I told her it was just a potty chair for her and it does not move or make noise. I showed her where it was going to go and then I sat her on it, but she did. It want to sit there at all so I took her back off. But then she wanted to sit on it again since she saw that it did. To move or anything. So after she got used to itshe likes to push it out of the bathroom and into the living room like it is a toy, that is so funny because she puts her stuffed animals on it like they are sitting in the potty and using it. She still has. It used it for what it is intended for but that takes time and patience. So every time I go to the bathroom she goes with me and wants to sit on it so I remove her diaper and let her sit on it till we are done. She still has not used it yet and it has been two weeks of trying but I know eventually she will. So the main thing is yes I like it and would I recommend this to family and friends, yes I would and it could be used with girls or boys.
Well to tell the truth, my grandsons couldn't wait for me to open the box. They though they had another firetruck to ride on not to go in. I guess that will be explained to him when he gets a little older. He started right off putting his cookies in it and I don't think he really understood when I told him that he was suppose to eat the cookies befor they went into the pot. My daughter in law really likes the way it comes apart and fits on the regular cammode without any trouble. She also says it should be easy to clean if she can just get him to use it. There was really no assembly to it. All you have to do is snap in the backrest and there you go. Yep this is really a neat little pottie. The hard part is teaching my grandson that it is not just another toy.
