This is my 5th Holmes Twin Window Fan. The other 4 are still running; one for about 6 summers. This new one, HAWF2943, is running and puts out a good amount of air, but the noise makes it impossible to sleep! I put it in an upstairs guest bedroom where I like to leave a fan on exhaust during the day and intake overnight. My bedroom is just below, and the fan made so much noise I had to go up and turn it to low and raise the temp. control which helped some, but defeated the purpose of the fan! I also don't like the digital control. I prefer the controls on my other fans which allow me to turn on only one of the fans which I have to do on occasion. I now will have to place the older fan back into the upstairs window and this new one into a window somewhere that the loud noise won't bother me or the neighbors! Since this was purchased through Walmart but sold and shipped by Dave Electronics LLC, I'm not sure that I can return it.
This is the second window fan I have ordered from Walmart. The first one was a different brand, had to sent it back for a broken blade. Ordered this one because its supposed to be a good brand. It is, but the one I got was one someone had already returned. I'll keep it but I am really disappointed about it.
Works as described. was easy to install. love the ability to use exhaust or intake with just a push of a button. Can change direction without turning off fan so can exhaust during heat of day and with push of button change to intake with the cool evening air. My last Holmes lasted 20 yrs. expect this one will also last.
After I purchased this fan, I realized that I had purchased the same one a few years ago. This item is easy to use and fits well in the window. I use it with the other to create a cross breeze in my home since I could not get central A/C due to the size. This was a good purchase
Bought one of these 10+ years ago. The fans housing is now being made lighter (cheaper) and lifting from the window is a bit more difficult because the place where you grab the fan at the top has been redesigned, this is not a deal breaker but the old design was better. Fan works well and is relatively quiet.
