The warm must humidifier is a life safe during the cold winters! It's super easy to set up and has multiple settings to adjust for any need or for room sizes. The tank that it's attached to has the option to fill it up without having to remove the lid and has the max fill line on the outside which is convenient when you have a sick one and in a dark room. When I fill it to the max it last all night even on the highest setting available. It's also super quiet so it doesn't keep you awake. It has a great option that once it is out it just kicks off and a red light comes on so it doesn't keep running or make awkward noises. Always great for wood heated homes to help keep moisture in the air which we have a struggle with dry heat in the winter

The Honeywell warm mist humidifier is a great item, lets go over what`s great, and not so great about it. Your two responsibilities after purchase are setup and weekly cleaning and disinfecting. After reading the manual, find a suitable location at least 1 foot from any walls or furniture, the 5` power cord will help with that. Next, pour up to 1.3 gallons of water into the fill side of the tank, there is a max fill line on the top cover. Liquid inhalants can be used if desired, add them to the medicine cup, also located on the cover. The controls feature high and low heater settings, and a humidistat to control the humidity level in the room. There is no fan or filter needed with this model-HWM340. A red refill light will alert you if the water tank runs dry and the unit will shutdown. More water can be added to the tank at any time, it doesn`t have to be empty. Cleaning is recommended weekly, a descaling with vinegar followed by disinfecting with a bleach solution. Cleaning balls, which sit in the tank and lengthen the time between cleanings are referenced in the owners manual. Four parts, including the top cover, are removed and may be run through your dishwasher on the top shelf, alone, with no detergent. The instructions next describe pouring 1 cup of white vinegar in the fill tank, and soaking the parts and heating element for 20 minutes, then scrubbing them with a soft brush. Finally rinsing everything until the vinegar odor is gone. You will find that 1 cup does not cover the heating element, or the other parts. The heating element dried with a white coating on top that I had to rewipe with more vinegar to remove. Honestly, the cleaning instructions seem like they are written for another model of humidifier. You will have to come up with your own plan as I did. Ok, back to the good news: After I filled the unit and turned it on, I was treated with a warm comfortable mist in less than a minute. It immediately felt more comfortable, and the unit made a white noise sound that will ease your cares away. The Honeywell HWM340 did a great job adding moisture to our 15` x 30` great room, and eventually the rest of the house.

My youngest son has been so congested at night. so I decided to give the Honeywell warm mist humidifier a try. I have to say I been using this humidifier for a couple of nights and I already see a big change. My son is sleeping so much better because of this humidifier. I absolutely love it! It's so easy to use just plug and add water and turn on. You add water by pouring it into the wide opening. The humidifier will start producing steam within a minute. The humidifier produces 99.9 % bacteria free steam!!! I love that it is easy to clean just remove parts and put it in the dishwasher. There is a essential oil cup which you can add stuff if you prefer. However, I haven't tried that I like just using the steam without adding anything to it. It has an auto shut off feature which I love a lot. This product is made with good quality and will be used a lot.

It arrived today and you need to read the instructions before you turn it on. There's a red float handle way at the bottom inside the misting chamber and they tape it to the inner wall. You have to feel down inside and remove that tape. Then make sure the switch is in the center (Off) position. Now you can fill it with water. I would recommend setting it up high initially, like on a water resistant table or end table so you can see the controls. One you fill it, turn it on and adjust the turn knob all the way to the right (Maximum). I would suggest using the high setting initially. I have a humidity meter across the room from it and it read 38 when I turned it on. Inside of 30 minutes I could feel warm, moist air and the humidity meter was now at 42. In just 30 minutes! So I turned it to the low setting, waited until the room felt comfortable and turned the knob to the left until I heard a click. That's the setting I will continue to use, unless I need more humidity. The unit requires maintenance weekly using a brush and vinegar. Probably clear vinegar. To remove the scales from the heating element. Unplug it and take it to the kitchen sink. You turn the unit off, drain it, reach in, push a little red clip and take out the misting tower to clean it. Also pull that red float handle and clean the float. Then put some water and vinegar into the water well and let it sit for half an hour and clean the heating element with a scrub brush. Drain and clean. Then refill and add a teaspoon of chlorine bleach to disinfect the unit. Then drain that and clean the unit out with fresh water. Reassemble, add water, plug the unit back in and turn it on. I suppose if you used distilled water it might not need as much care. I use tap water. If you see a RED LIGHT it means the unit is off and needs refilling. You turn the unit off for fifteen minutes. Refill and then turn it back on again. If it's already full, just leave it off for fifteen minutes. As I'm writing this my humidity is now 48%. That's a 10% increase in about two, two and a half hours and it's on LOW now at my personal setting. As you can see from my humidity meter my low today was 37% and high 49%.

The Honeywell Top Fill warm Mist Humidifier Model HWM34B is easy to fill, use and clean and requires no filter. The top fill is easy to use and you can fill with a gallon jug at the location you choose to use the humidifier so you don't have to take the unit to the sink and fill then worry about spilling on the way back. When the tank gets low a red light comes on to let you know it is time to add water. I sat my humidifier in a plastic tub that holds a gallon of water as a precaution against spills and so far no leaks but i would rather be safe than sorry. Operation is a breeze simply fill with water, plug into outlet set output control to high set humidistat to continuous and once it is at a comfortable humidity level slowly turn humidistat counter clockwise until you hear a click then it will maintain that humidity level. If unit runs out of water turn unit off and refill with cool water and let stand for 15 minutes and then turn on. Cleaning the unit should be done weekly on a water resistant surface. The top cover, mist dome/chimney and the water float are dishwater safe but do not wash with dishes or use detergents. If washed in dishwasher there is no need for scaling or disinfecting. The feature i like the best is the ability to use liquid inhalants like Vicks VapoSteam. When using inhalants turn off unit and allow to cool 20-30 minutes then add one tablespoon of chosen inhalant into to the medicine cup. Warm mist humidifiers work better than the other type and have more benefits. Some of the benefits include adding moisture to dry indoor air which helps prevent that dry itchy winter skin, helps relieve congestion and coughs by keeping throat and nasal passages hydrated, keeps indoor plants healthier, helps protect wood furniture and reduces static electricity. I have only used this unit for a week but i could tell the first night i was hooked.
