Honeywell True HEPA Air Purifier

With 2 cats and a significant other with severe allergies, I purchased this purifier after doing online research on all different types and brands. The Honeywell pulls from 360 degrees, and within a few days of use, even I could tell a difference in the house air. It runs 24/7, is cleaning approximately 600-700 sq. ft., and my S.O. can now tolerate my house! I keep it on the lowest setting, and while it does make some noise, I liken it to white noise and don't find it at all offensive. Easy to take apart and clean if you glance at the directions first. GREAT choice, and great value for the money.

I bought this because my boyfriend has breathing problems and, especially with two cats and no central air, he could use the help. We've had this product about 3 or 4 weeks and I cant say it's cured his problems but it does seem that he has fewer 'bad' days. We don't run it 24/7, only when we're in the room it's in (the main room) and usually have it on the lowest setting. The machine can be a little loud on the higher two settings but it sounds just like you think it would; lots of air gushing out of the machine. With as much air as it processes it's to be expected, but we don't sleep with it on so I'm not sure if it would disturb sleeping.

I have had 2 of these air purifiers. One was in a very dirty workplace where the purifier enabled me to continue working when I would otherwise have had to stop. When my house began being renovated, I searched air cleaners and was relieved when I saw this cleaner was still available. I was miserable from sheetrock dust & the cleaner vastly improved the situation. When you open the unit for filter change or cleaning (the grill does need to be vaccuumed regularly or you will end up washing it), you can see the accumulation of pollutants on the prefilter. It's a little noisy - like a fan or in wall air conditioner, but like an air conditioner, the relief it gives is worth the noise. If a medical practitioner is recommending you get an air purifier, this is the one I'd recommend.

The filter seems to do its job well. The quality of the chassis and the assembly workmanship is a dissapointment. The plastic seems thin and almost flimsy. Chassis screws were loose and a few were missing. Some self tapping screws had stripped the plastic. So, from day one, the unit was just about in need of repair.

After much research, I purchased the HEPA Purifier. This was absolutely the best for the money b/c it actually helps me to sleep w/o coughing, less reliance on my Inhaler & I have not had a sinus infection for some time. I also have not experienced the shaking that some models can have...The only downsides that I've experienced are 1. It is Quite Loud (It's like Loud white noise~ Compared to my previous health problems though, it's just a minor annoyance). 2. It also leaves dark marks on whatever surface you use on. (I simply put a protective layer underneath it to protect the shelf.)
