HP - ENVY 6455e Wireless All-In-One Inkjet Printer with 3 months of Instant Ink Included with HP+ - White

I didn't even get a chance to review this product for it had gotten damaged in transit. The box had multiple punctures on different sides of the box. The actual printer 's glass was smattered into multiple pieces. I took it to the Walmart store closest to me and tried to find a replacement. There was NONE. So, upon reordering, I found that I was unable to buy it at the same price AND wasn't even able to receive the 6 months' ink cartridges. This was NOT a pleasurable experience and will probably go elsewhere from now on to have products delivered .

All functions with this printer are activated via the HP Smart App which did take me a little time to become used to as my previous printer worked direct from my laptop or smartphone. This was particularly the case when scanning as there are a range of settings to go through and select. Just take time to carefully choose the appropriate settings to avoid disappointment. That said the 6420 works swiftly and produces excellent quality prints and photos. The auto document feeder is a great extra feature.

I am a loyal HP customer, and I've had nothing else (computer-related) for over 25 years. I was confident that setting up a printer was basically "plug and play." Nope. I ran into walls at every turn, even though I've used HP Smart for years! I followed instructions, looked up help, checked and rechecked everything I could think of. Finally, I got things to finish setting up by accessing it via laptop rather than on my phone. I print from my phone almost exclusively, so getting my phone and the printer "on the same page," is sometimes tricky, which I did not anticipate from this printer! I would highly recommend getting a model with an information/operation screen. The very basic panel of lights that show up on an otherwise blank surface is not very helpful, but I realize that all of the interfacing is intended to be done between HP Smart and the printer with very little interaction on the user's part. I'm not a total techie, but I know my way around tech fairly well, and I'm comfortable dealing with this kind of thing, so I'm not just an old lady complaining about a faulty printer. Things are smoothing out now that Printer and I are beginning to get along. The print quality is quite good for a lower end model, and I've had no issues with two-sided printing. It's fast (for my use), and printing is quiet once the printer heads have clunked into action. Always take advantage of Instant Ink! (Love love love six months free!)

I bought this six months ago, and initially it seemed easy to setup, although frustrating that I needed to create a hp online account to use a printer. Since then it regularly had issues connecting to wifi, and it's spend hours trying to get it going, I'd be able to communicate with the printer using the app on my phone, and get it to print out status reports, but not my documents. The same on the computer, I could get status of the ink, but when i tried to print, suddenly it couldn't find the printer. I have worked as an IT tech, so I'm not naive around networking, but I literally have just chucked this printer in the bin as I couldn't handle the frustration anymore. I know the specs sound good, and the price is right, but for your sanity, please avoid it.
