H&R Block - Tax Software Deluxe 2024 - Windows, Mac OS

I've been using H&R Block's software for over 10 years and have always valued it. It has found additional savings for me in the past and allows me to use the efile feature to quickly and safely file my returns. It also allows my kids to do the same thing. I do wish that it would allow for free state efile as well but will hope that feature will be added in the future.

A program structure issue: EVERY page in the program has a title. Why can't the "Take Me To" screen list all those titles? Clicking on a "Take Me To" item will, in many cases, take me to a page that is 3. 4 or more pages away from where I want to be. "Take Me To" needs to be fine-tuned.

The product has more bugs than it used to. The audit found 6 or 7 empty data fields that should have been filled by the program from information entered. I had to enter the data directly into the forms to satisfy the audit. One of the data items was specific to itemizing which I wasn't doing.

I had a pin on my IRS account and it kept me from e filing, but I tried three times. Every time they charge me for the state filing even though they never provided that service. I have used HR block for over a decade, but this is probably the last time.

It was somewhat ok vs TurboTax but had the following problems. 1) Downloaded my ML file. Discovered it had somehow double counted some interest dividends. Had to amend my return, saving thousands. 2)On my MA state tax, the program did not carryover my tax loss. Manually inserted, saving thousands again. Errors like this make me nervous there are other errors. Waiting to see if I get audited.
