WalMart did its job. Huffy, not so well. FedEx dropped it off when I was out. The package had burst, lost some parts and warped the front fork. I e-mailed Huffy. A rep called and sent a new fork with quick release front axel. Two washers were still missing from the axel package. I caught the short version of flue, was delayed with further assembly. Then I found that both forks Huffy sent were designed for the traditional axel, not the quick release one. I e-mailed a detailed description of the situation. No one responded. Finally I called, spoke to a young lady that I feel didn't get the point, but she said she would get a fix "right out". No further word from Huffy, and the bike remains unassembled. I will be happy to furnish my detailed last e-mail if you will sent me an address. WalMart, I would recommend, maybe not Huffy!
Pros: 29" fat bike cheaper than anywhere else Cons: pedal attachment method is questionable, chain prone to jumping off front gears even after adjustment, bike is SLOW, seatpost is super short Been using to bike in snow, seems to hold up okay, def. not my favorite bike to ride
Bought it online... Started putting it together before I realized the fork was bent and gears where bent... Sent it back and the next one had an even worse bend in the fork... Didn't even take it out of the box... I just returned it to my local store for a refund. That was the only good experience from this :D
I got this on a sale and saved a few dollars. I called the local store and asked how long they'd hold it until I could pick it up. I was told seven days and then the bike showed up at my front door, wow. I did not expect that. I'll soon be replacing the Tourney style rear derailleur with the Alivio or better, as by my experience, holds up longer. I have, on other bikes, lost a few spokes by the Tourney suddenly breaking into them (after much wear and tear, of course). Next, finding the wheels, tubes and tires for spares, I found at the Huffy site (and a couple of others internationally). The front suspension is a bit spongy but doesn't bottom out on the wheel which is a plus. Thus far, I am pleased with the purchase and enjoy the easy riding on the street, as well. I weigh in about 220 + lbs and the quick release seat adjusts to an average comparable 19 inch frame height (plus post length) as this one is 17.5, I think. I'd say the minimum rider's inseam should be around 29 inches give or take, for comfort at stops. The stars rating are for the bike itself and for price and service -- 5.
The bike itself was great. The ride was smooth, the brakes were awesome, and the bike just looks cool! However, the seat would slowly keep going down and also twist as I was riding! This is kinda scary when you're riding along terrain. I had the seat tightened all the way but it was just stripped out and would not stay where I set it. Not sure if this was a defective model on Huffy's part or if the assembler did a bad job. So I had to return it since I did not feel safe riding it. Time to research for another bike.
