Igloo 4.6 Cu. Ft. Bar Fridge, Stainless steel

I have a problem with other tenants eating my food and ordered this fridge for my room. I ordered this model because of the low cost to run it, around $30 a year. It said it was quiet and since it is right next to my bed I was hoping that was true. I've only had it for 6 days I'm very pleased with my choice. The fridge came from Texas and had a couple of dents in the box, not very strong packing, but not a scratch on my fridge. It holds all of my cold cuts, cheeses and pickles as well as sodas. The door does not keep items from flying out when I open it, and the freezer does not keep ice cream unless I turn the thermostat up so all of my food in the fridge freezes. I guess you can't have everything for the price. I did purchase the 2 year extended warranty as I read a lot of the reviews and thought for another $20 I should.

A co-worker ordered this fridge initially for our office, but was severely damaged when it arrived. It looked like it had been dropped from 4-5 feet onto concrete. She returned it and I ordered the same fridge a few days later. Well guess what! It was also damaged. Luckily not nearly as bad as the first one, so we kept it and got $40 back due to the damage. As far as how the fridge actually works I have no problems there. Still not real thrilled about having a brand new damaged fridge.

The dent does not affect the operation of the refrigerator and since it was on sale that might be the reason. The literature suggested setting the temperature control on 3. that did not work. I set it on 6 with 7 as the Maximum setting. It froze ice cubes and stayed at 40 degrees.

Bottom of carton had separated from the rest. Top corner dented on arrival. If we hadn't needed it immediately, I would have returned the item.

I purchased this online with free home delivery and I was extremely impressed by the delivery time. The unit arrived by FedEx only 2 days after I ordered it. However, the unit arrived with the outer shipping carton not fully intact and the refrigerator itself was pretty banged up on one of the corners. That is the only reason I did not rate this 5 stars. Had the unit not worked, I would have returned it, but it ended up working great, so I chose to overlook the dented corner. This refrigerator is a GREAT value for the price. It has a special rack for cans of soda or beer in the door and has a lot of space. This is definitely not your average dorm fridge. The freezer, while small, works great and freezes ice cubes quickly. The unit is almost completely silent and looks very nice as well.
