I was skeptical about this product but wanted something compatable to the elliptical machine I had to retire and compacted enough to fit into the exercise room. This machine filled both requeirments
Perfect equipment for a small space--nice, low profile. Provides a great workout. Well designed and well built. Would buy again.
I have muscle that I've not had in years. I'm 40 and use this everyday if it's possible! Love it LOVE IT!
This is a great mini-stepper! The pivot action makes it feel more like a natural stride. Unlike other reviewers, I don't think the stepping action is too tight of stiff. It just seems to start off stiff until you get into a natural movement, then it goes quite smoothly. I'm a walker who averages about 5 miles a day. I bought this stepper to supplement my walks when I can't get my miles in. I've enjoyed using it so much that I use it every day (whether I get my miles in or not!). Only negative is that the bands are too long so I use small hand weights instead.
I should start out by saying that I have twice purchased a similar machine: the Lateral Thigh Trainer. Both times, the very poor construction of that machine (everything depends on a low quality bike chain inside that breaks in no time) severely disappointed me, despite the concept of the machine being great, and it being fun to use. So, it was unfortunately with low expectations that I puchased the Pivotal Multi-Directional Stepper. I was very pleasantly surprised! It's immediately obvious that this machine is much better made, depending on shock absorbers to work instead of a band or chain to work. It's got a nice, solid, heavy feel that I was not expecting. It may sound odd, but I was also pleased that it didn't come with endless tiresome DVDs, diet books, etc. Even the instructions are a single sheet of paper--basically you get on and go, period! It can't be adjusted, which is really a good thing. The workout is a good one, and I use it outside in the yard. It comes with a digital counter/clock to count steps, calories and time. The only odd thing is that the clock times you, but once you get off the machine, the time doesn't go back to zero! It's actually necessary to remove the battery to reset the clock! I've had the Pivot Multidirectional Stepper for a few weeks now and I'm very pleased; it truly exceeded my expectations. As long as it doesn't break, I'll gladly recommend it to anyone wanting a small and inexpensive exercise machine.
