I bought two of these benches and use one in my mud room and one at my kitchen table... very nice and sturdy... painted them white on the bottom and walnut on top and they go really well with my existing furniture.. painted the pieces before I assembled them... easy to put together... should last a lifetime... very happy with my purchases...

Very nice work. But the top does not flip up, as described, and that is a disappointment because I was planning for it to house gloves, hats. Hayneedle, please correct that misinformation in your description of this item. This bench looks so good I'm considering leaving it as is, may oil it later.

Perfect bench size for a narrow entry hallway to make shoe removal easy! Sturdy, proportioned well, assembly was effortless—and this 70 year old woman did it herself in about 30 minutes!! The unfinished wood is without splinters and comes smoothly sanded.

I ordered two of the smaller length benches to go under windows that flank my fireplace. The benches were easy to assemble. Before painting the benches white to match the fireplace trim, I glued on a trim piece to the front, as shown in the picture. I found a couple of baskets for each bench that fit perfectly to use for toy storage.

I love these two benches. They came packaged so well. Completely protected. The wood is very high quality and heavy. The assembly was perfect and simple. The wood is sanded so smooth. Ready for paint, although the wood is so pretty it's almost a shame to paint it. I bought 2 of the 36 inch benches and I'm using them in an L shape in the corner of my tiny kitchen with a 36 inch pedestal wooden table. I'm filling the benches with pillows. I have completed many pieces of unassembled furniture and have never been happier with any other purchase.
