Flat mouth has enough grip to get it working has a flat nose pliers using the mouth perpendicular to the bolt.

I bought a set of three and when gripping a nut, the front "tooth/grrove" chipped almost all the way off. Back the Channellocks!!!!

These things are great! I was surprised by the bad reviews that claimed that they don't last. I can't comment on that, because I only use them maybe once a week. I like them because they don't slip out of their channel like Channel Locks.

I have had many pair of these slip lock pliers, use them for aircraft maintenance. I have five pair That no longer lock and pinch my fingers. Unreliable Product.
