I bought this for my elderly parents to have a simple, easy to use device with an automatic return tone arm so they wouldn't have to run for the player when the record ends. True to other reviews, the lining was peeling off onto the turntable. I am disappointed in the sound quality when playing 33's--very uneven to the point of distorted. I tried the old quarter on the record label trick, but it didn't help. Putting the 45 adaptor over the 33 record helped a little, but the adaptor wasn't heavy enough to completely stabilize. 45's did play a little better, but not that much better. 78's sounded very nice on this machine, which to me indicates the heavier record provided the weight needed to stabilize the turntable. I give it one star because of the issue with the 33's.
