Juanita’s Foods Ready to Serve Original Menudo Soup, 25 oz Can

No meat, just big blobs of fat. It would have been a generous amount of meat -- except that all the supposed meat was fat. Like fatback. The other ingredients and seasonings were okay. But all those glops of fat... there were too many to just pick it out of the soup. It was disgusting.

I like purchasing the set of three because it's more value for the cost. I like the product for my husband and myself to enjoy on any cool morning, as opposed to hot cereal.

The go to menudo in my house. This brand is the best. I've tried other brands and there's no comparison. I've bought this before in bigger larger cans and served it at parties and they all asked me for the recipe. They thought it was homemade.

My comparison is to home made or my local restaurant. The least desireable trait is the smell. while all menudo has some sort of smell, this product is offputting and reaks of non-fresh. It tastes just ok and is less spicy than i would like it, but that is a personal preference. Adding fresh onions and citrus brightens it up a little. I am probably spoiled as my local restaurant provides it daily rather than on weekends. I might keep a can in the pantry when i might not want to get it from the restaurant, but will not use this version routinely. It is passable with a couple of fresh add-ons.
