I would give this zero stars if i could. These were installed in a new build in 2020. I have had to replace the batteries every year and i use kiddie brand batteries which arent cheap. Recently, one started chirping in the middle of the night. Bought new kiddie batteries, tested the system and it still chirps and flashes. This one will need to be replaced and i will not be buying anything Kiddie ever. I have had two instances where the smoke detectors did not go off and the kitchen was full of thick smoke but tested fine. Will be replacing with a different brand.

New house build 2 years ago and these were installed. Multiple times they have alarmed, no fire just loud noises and sleepless nights. At first I assumed it was construction dust but now think these are garbage. Blow them out and clean according to instructions. This model is discontinued and the website has ZERO information on replacement. I would give less than 1 star if that was an option. Based on performance and support will be looking at another product and will share my experience with anyone who I can.

I bought 9 units for my entire house just under 3 years ago so I wouldn't have to hire someone to replace batteries every year. You guessed it. One started chirping today, a Friday night. Will need to live the entire weekend with the chirp. They were expensive. Would not buy again.

Serial # i12010s. Issue # 0009908, dated 2021 Dec. 03. Same problem as below, alarm went off at 2:30 AM.tonight 10/24/ 2024. Installed 4/18/2022. No fire or smoke. The button turned a non green. Being handy, I used an 8' ladder to reach and disconnected. (I am 78 YO) Broke thru rear of alarm, pryed it open and turned switch to silence. Difficult to break open and silence. I have five of these and wondering if same will happen again? Alarm cover data: 10 Year Smoke Alarm. Should Be 10 YEARS, BEFORE SOUNDING AN ALARM, SHOULD SOUND a chirp at 9-10 years to indicate expiration, and replacement needed.

Just installed several of these for a house renovation. We've had multiple occasions where cooking will cause them to go off. I've pushing the hush button. Need to hold for 30 or even 60 seconds for it to go off. I read the manual and it just say "push to hush" but that is not true. My ears are STILL ringing from standing under the alarm holding the button. Not happy!
