Product Details

The Kidde Hardwired Smoke Detector with Battery Backup and Test-Silence Button, model i12060, is an AC/DC powered, ionization smoke alarm that operates on a 120V power source. In the event of a power failure, the Kidde fire alarm comes equipped with a 9V battery backup. Using ionization sensing technology, the wired smoke alarm detects invisible fire particles (associated with flaming fires) sooner than photoelectric alarms. Kidde strongly recommends that both ionization and photoelectric smoke alarms be installed to help ensure maximum detection of the various types of fire that can occur within the home. Designed to be easy to install, this smoke detector includes a pre-stripped wiring harness with easy-off cap. The front battery door makes it simple to replace the smoke alarm's battery backup without the need to remove the alarm from the mounting bracket. Red LEDs indicate 4 modes of operation: Standby Mode - flashes every 40 seconds to indicate the smoke alarm is operating properly; Alarm Mode - alarm senses products of combustion; Alarm Memory - to indicate the alarm has been activated; and Hush Mode - silences the alarm for approximately 7 minutes. Green LED indicates AC power. UL Certified with a 10-year limited warranty.

I have 9 of these hard wired smoke alarms in my house, they were installed August 2024. They have started going off 3am randomly and now they are blinking red. Changed all the batteries several times tried to reset nothing works. Would like a refund on the 12 units I purchased, would not recommend Kidde to anyone. Used to be a reliable product.

Had these installed by an electrician when we upgraded our electrical panel. Had them for two years, had a few issues with false alarms going off. Now, recently, they keep giving false alarms. I even had to leave work early once because a neighbour alerted us. There seems to be a lot of negative reviews for this product, so buyer beware. Will be replacing them with another brand. I would give zero stars if I could.

Seriously for a device that is suppose to save lives, these things are killing me and my family. They randomly go off for no reason between the hours of 12 midnight and 4 am. We replace batteries, clean them with compressed air/ vacuum cleaner per the instructions, and even dropped a couple hundred bucks replacing them all in my house, yet some how they go off These things suck

I replaced an older kidde model with this one because the older model was discontinued. I was hoping I could just swap out the units but the wire and base didn't match so it was an ordeal. The older model was great but this one has given me so much anxiety. It randomly chirps (not low battery) and sets my dog off in a panic. Everytime I cook I have to set a fan understand to blow any whisper of smoke away or it'll go off. I've been showering with the bathroom door open and the steam from my shower has set it off. I come home from work and its bright red indicating it went off overnight. At this point I've completely disconnected it because the random chirps and alarms are going to give me a heart attack.

Manufacture date when product arrived was 9 months old. I have several of these in my home and at least once starts alarming every 6 months or so. (They were all replaced with new ones about 3 years ago). It's very irritating, but not sure I have any alternatives.
