Comes in handy. Love that it is not so bulky and very easy to use. I have a 4 year old that could put it on the car seat all by herself. That should tell you how easy it is. I used it through out the whole winter and washed it quite often and it does not fade. I would have kept it for the next baby but not planning any more any time soon so I passed it on to some one that was needing it.
This product really keeps my baby warm. I can unzip it in the car, so he doesn't get too hot, then zip it back up when we get out into the cold. He really likes the feel of the fleece inside. With this product, you don't have to worry about cumbersome blankets, so you can hold on to the carrier better.
I am so thrilled with this purchase! I looked online at many different ones. I love the fact that this has a zipper. Some of the ones I saw, did not. The nice feature of the zipper is that I can leave the cover on the infant seat all the time and zip the baby up whenever it is really cold. I also saw many other ones that were much more expensive. I don't know how they could be any better than this one and at an affordable price that is well worth the money!
I bought this in the green/cream fleece for our then 4 mos grandson for Xmas. This transformed his attitude and comfort toward travel. He apparently feels much safer in public or in the car, like he is in his own little cave peeking out. And is just right warm, no drafts, without being overdressed. I think the opening provides just enough view to not be overstimulating to him. Like I said, he is a transformed traveler. And when traveling at night, he is also happy...unlike before the cover. People can see his cute little face, but the cover keeps them from reaching out to touch him. When moving from building to car/reverse or he wants to sleep, the 'collar' is folded over and he is content. He also turns his head to sleep. Still has air flow, too, so grandma isn't worried. If not ready for sleep, he moves his head and the collar seems to open on its own and he can see out again. Wal-mart had another style of cover in store recently, with two zippers and a face flap, but the overall shape is square and it seems smaller overall. The quality of sewing in the construction is not as good either. I'll be returning it. Even if you have to site to store or ship this, get this one. For our area (southeastern WA), a heavier fleece is not necessary. Just another light blanket under the cover has been adequate in freezing and subzero temps.
For $15 bucks it's pretty cool. I thought of making one, but figured it would cost just as much or more than this one. It has a zipper and is reversible, but it isn't very thick. The "collar" isn't quite what I had pictured, but I think it will still be ok. My only concern is that there are two THIN layers, one is nylon, the other is fleece. I'm worried that with the winters we have here in the Northeast that it won't be warm enough. The other thing is that on the infant seat the part that latches into thebase is covered and might be cumbersome to remove in order to snap the seat into the base.
