We bought this for our 3 year old grandson. Read the reviews sounded pretty good. After our son put it together we could not believe how sturdy this was. Our grandson and his 7 year old cousin play with it all the time.. It is the best built garage that we have ever seen. He will out grow it before he can wear it out. If you want a long lasting toy for a boy I say it is the perfect gift.

GRANDSON LIKES IT A LOT. HE'S 4 YEARS OLD. HE IS USING MATCHBOX AND HOTWHEELS CARS WITH THIS GARAGE. THE WOODEN CARS THAT CAME WITH THE GARAGE ARE NICE BUT I SUPPOSE HE LIKES HIS METAL CARS BETTER. ASSEMBLY WASN'T TOO BAD, I HAD MY 80 YEAR OLD BOYFRIEND PUT IT TOGETHER FOR MY GRANDSON. APPEARS TO BE A STURDY TOY.

This is a well-made toy. The parts fit together nicely, but figuring out exactly how to assemble it is a real challenge. The instruction sheet is similar to an IKEA assembly book -- no words, only pictures and no indication of some of the finer points of assembly. For example, when a part can be built with two different faces, there's no indication which face goes in which direction. In addition, the elevator shaft had blocks in it that prevented the elevator from going completely from top to bottom. I had to remove the blocks that were factory assembled to get the elevator to work. One last complaint -- for the money (and this is a relatively expensive toy), there are very few real moving parts. I think kids will like it, but be prepared to spend a lot of time assembling it (it took me two hours and I do this type of stuff a lot and I'm usually pretty good at figuring these things out).

This looks pricey at first but you can easily spend $50 on a cheap plastic hot wheels/matchbox garage. This is very durable. It took my husband and I about an hour to assemble. It wasn't hard but follow the instructions carefully. I gave it 4 stars because the knob to control the elevator kept coming loose. My husband put in a longer screw and it works fine now. Also, the screws that hold in the ramps are also very tiny and after 3 months of use, the ramps are prone to pop out. (I'm guessing that a child might have stepped on them). Could be fixed with some longer screws and superglue. Overall, it is a great toy any kid who likes matchbox cars. It is big enough and can be played from both sides, so 2 kids can play together and not fight too much.

I purchased this for my 2.5 yr.-old and 4 yr.-old for Christmas, 2011. It's a nice wooden playset and both my boys have enjoyed playing with it so far. It comes with a lot of vehicles, which is great so multiple kids can play at once. Kidkraft products tend to be a bit overpriced, but are a nice product if you can get a good deal on them.
