For years I have been cutting, splitting, and burning wood in my stove but I always made my own kindling the old-fashioned way...piece of wood, small ax in one hand, hammer in the other. Tedious, time-consuming, and dangerous...but that's how I always did it. For years I looked for a better way to split wood for kindling. I finally found the perfect "fit" and size for me. I purchased your Kindling Cracker Firewood Splitter...the XL Size. I kid you not...this is one of the best inventions ever made. I cannot tell you how much I am pleased with this product. It is extremely durable and made of the finest material. I understand that the splitter never needs sharpening either! As a bonus, I can use it to split 9 inch diameter pieces of hardwood too with such ease. I love it and I highly recommend this kindling cracker to anyone who splits wood.

This kindling splitter was purchased about 2 months ago and has been well used for 30 days since the end of October. If you burn wood, you will use this often. Paired with an engineers hammer or small sledge seasoned firewood splits like a dream. It does handle knots exceptionally well but if you do your part it works fine. I recommend removing any bark from logs before splitting. Made in not China.
