The bowl started leaking blue liquid, only used twice .. poor construction and totally unacceptable given the exorbitant cost .
Couldnt really decide what to give this review but here goes. I am a huge kitchen aid fan and literally have all the attachments and one of the first ones I got was my ice cream bowl. My parents gifted it to me as part of my Christmas gift. Loved it the first few times But trying to clip on the attachment is quite tricky. Its very hard and like alot of people out there when the ice cream churns it clicks out if place and makes a strange noise. I persisted with it and continued to make ice creams but it constantly clicks back out especially if you try to add nuts of some sort. I eventually purchased a Cuisinart ice cream maker and havent gone back to the kitchen aid one. It disappoints me that this problem has not been fixed and kitchen aid simply continues to make the product. Surely there are ways to fix this issue and people can enjoy making ice cream.
We used our new Kitchenaid ice cream maker attachment for the first time this weekend and loved it! Made some homemade banana nut ice cream that tasted just as delicious, rich and creamy as the ice cream our parents made when we were kids. Brought back great memories. Looking forward to using it again!
I have made gelato & ice cream, so far. If you follow the directions carefully, it comes out great! Be sure and freeze the bowl as long as it says in the directions.
I purchased the Ice cream maker last month for my Kitchenaid stand mixer. So far I made fabulous creamy vanilla and chocolate Ice cream. I loved the idea of making fresh homemade Ice cream for my family, including, adding fruit into the mix-- strawberries, raspberries, peaches or in the summer I grow blackberries will make it even better!! Kitchenaid makes durable products which I recently also purchased food grinder and the rotor slicer/shredder attachments for my 6 qt. stand mixer which I had for many years. I'm very pleased I purchased all of them making it faster to make any meals and I find I can attach them to my mixer very easily.
