I've been using the Kobo reader for about a week now, and I just love it. it's light, easy to read in full sunlight, or in the dark (while my spouse sleeps). Very convenient to take on trips, loaded with all the books I want to read. A great little device.

This is a really good deal. They now ship version 2, which has improvements, and Overdrive capability. I really love being able to check books out from my local library through Overdrive. The other readers can have difficult DRM controls, and won't accept some formats of books you want to load on yourself. This reader does do that. I find it works best with free Caliber software, which syncs with it easily. I am using it with Linux now, but Caliber is also on Windows. I have owned the B

This is my first e-reader, so I'm still learning how to get books onto it. I've been Googling quite a bit and using the Kobo app on my laptop. I was frustrated with the $5 credit that Kobo offered on my first book purchase: it did not credit properly and required 35 minutes spent with an online helpdesk. The e-reader itself feels good in my hand and is beautifully easy to read in any light. I bought this for traveling and I think it will be pretty great to have so many books in such a small package.

Pro's: 1. Supports almost all ebooks format (epubs, mobi, pdf, etc.) 2. Text is like print 3. Battery charges quickly 4. Full battery last about 2 weeks if you read everyday for 30mins - 1 hour 5. Smooth and sleek design Cons 1. You have to push the on/off button hard to turn on/off 2. Little to no accessories for this product 3. Freezes on pages (4 times over the course of 3 months) 4. Slow to open books (like most ereader) 5. While reading, the screen is very sensitive: if you swipe to hard or hold a wipe for too long, flips through several pages 6. Doesn't upload ebooks very well. After download a book to the ereader, it updates your library, but takes a while for the book to properly format. I usually wait 5 minutes or restart the ereader entirely. I have more con's than pro's but overall, I am happy with my purchase.

Oh, no - didn't meet my expectation?*Wouldn't download book. I tried many different options including setting back to factory settings and starting over. I have a very fast internet connection and still didn't connect. It would state download is pending then timeout after 25 min. So I have sent it back. I have an older model (6 yrs) of Kobo and it works just fine, I just wanted an updated model. Guess I'll stick with the oldie but a goodie.
