excellent guitar
Great deal for the price. Very nice guitar, plays very well
Great value at a low price for a guitar of this quality. Plays and sounds great, and good workmanship and finish. The K2T body is 1.5 inches narrower than a standard acoustic, so it is more comfortable and easier to play. Guitar sound is very clean and clear, better than expected. There were no setup problems, just tuned it and ready to play. Piezo pickup and 3-way EQ are a bit limited, but it definitely sounds good amplified. Strings on it are OK, but should sound even better with a new set of strings. This guitar is easily worth 2-3 times the price.
Way better than I expected for $100. After adjusting the truss rod it was ready to play.
About 7 years ago I decided I wanted a "shop guitar", basically, a cheap guitar to hang on the wall at the shop where there is another guitar player. I looked around and found the Kona K2 at a different LARGE retailer, on sale, for $90. I sent for it. The first one had a problem (don't remember what) and I sent it back. The second one came in and I still have it. I play professionally (OK... I sing and play on "easy" songs). I use a Taylor, a Martin and a Takamine at various times. When all I had was the Taylor, this guitar served as my "backup", and when my Taylor went to El Cajon for a couple of months, this served as my primary guitar. It sounded great, played great, etc. The acoustic sound is MUCH bigger than expected from a thin body. It sounds very good plugged in as well. That said... I bought a $90 guitar and got very lucky. Yes, when you receive it, the action will be high. Yes, there may be a problem with the first 1, 2, or even 3 you receive. It's a cheap guitar. Even if you get a good one, the fit and finish (fret edges, binding, etc.) will be spotty, at best. You will have to set it up yourself or pay for a set up just to make the action decent. If you know what you are getting into though, maybe you will get as lucky as me. I liked mine so much I went and spent $50 on the proper hard case. The guitar now hangs in my "man cave" and I play it almost daily. 2 stars for the actual guitar, 1 more star for value, 2 more stars for MY particular K2.
