I painted a Xterra with it and it turned out great. I prepped by wet sanding with 400 grit paper. I had some minor dings I filled with glazing putty. I used several coats which allowed me to wet sand with 600 grit to produce an even appearance. The paint is pretty durable if applied correctly and with enough coats.
I bought this to paint pvc pipe black for cable conduit. The color is a great flat black with little reflections. The paint does not run and the spray is very focused out to about 28 inches.
I have used a number of different brands of paint (camo & other) ranging from low cost generic paints all the way up to Rustoleum & Krylon. To this day Krylon is by far the best camo paint in the civilian market. Really, Krylon is THE best pain, camo or other. I have been using it for decades, since I was a little brat, and I'm now 53.
I repainted a x4 scope that came in the wrong colour. Now I'm a complete amateur at spray painting and honestly the end product looked amazing. A really nice Matt finish, no drips. It was like I bought it black. My process: Cut out some cardboard roughly the size of the lens and squeezed it in. Quick read of the instructions on the side of the can, *shake shake* went in the garden, put some news paper down. I sprayed a light coat (about 8 inches away), wait 15 minutes and it was DRY to touch! rotate and sprayed again - repeat until satisfactory. Amazing stuff, highly recommend.
Most paints marketed as "flat" are basically satin. These paints are as flat as I've found. Also, I mostly use them on HDPE (#2) plastic, which is a challenging surface for other paints, but this Krylon stuff adheres exceptionally well. Follow the instructions on the can, mind your surface preparation before shooting, and it won't let you down. Plus it's widely available.
