You know, I cloth diaper 2 kids full time, since my 2 year old daughter was born, and I've tried all those big brand cloth diapers, but I always grabbed for these! I love them!! They hold ALOT! If my kids leaked, it was my fault for not changing them!
I love the diapers. They are very absorbent. I bought these for my 2 year old and he doesn't even realize they are different. They do take longer to dry but I put them in one cycle then hang them on the line to dry. I absolutely love these, I wish I would have bought them when he was a baby.
This is a great diaper at a great price. We have used other AIO cloth diapers and I like these just as well. They dry quickly b/c of the sewn-in liner. Other reviews said they leak - I would guess that these users didn't wash and dry their diapers a few times before using. All other cloth diapers require washing & drying at least FIVE times before use to make them absorbent. The instructions on the Kushies don't say to do that, but I did and they work just fine. DEFINITELY wash/dry your diapers a few times before using at first.
These diapers are great. I've geen using chinese pre-folds and these are such a step up from those...These are THE LEAST EXPENSIVE all-in-one diaper on the market, period. Totally absorbant, wash easily, and fit just right. The only teensy problem, is that the velcro tabs come loose during washing, so don't wash anything else with the diapers, or the velcro will catch on it. Definately get the kushies paper diaper liners to use with these, so that when your little one goes #2, clean-up will be much easier. I just wish they had more cute prints...
Getting started with (modern) cloth diapering is EXPENSIVE, and based on the reviews, I thought Kushies might have all the advantages of the popular alll-in-one brands, without the hefty price tag. Unfortunately, upon seeing them and trying them out, I was disappointed. The vinyl outer-shell is not soft at all - it reminds me of the plastic pants my mom used over our cloth diapers and training pants, and it smells too vinyl-ey too... doesn't mix well with the other diaper-related smells. That being said, as far as functionality, they worked pretty well. I tried them on both my 2 1/2 year old and my 10 month old. The 10 mo is just about 22 lbs, the lower weight limit for this size, and it ended up leaking with her, but leaking was not a problem with the toddler. I would say these diapers run big, and would recommend trying the Kushies "infant" size ones if your toddler is under 30 lbs. Bottom line: if you want to cloth diaper without spending a fortune, these will do the job with the same functionality and convenience of pricier all-in-ones, but they're not slim or plushy by any means.
