The office that I work in is kept very cold, so I use this space heater every day at my desk (it sits at my feet) to keep my warm. I don't know how well it would heat up a large room, but it works very well for this purpose alone and I've never had one single problem.

The heater works well enough, but I was expecting more based on the other reviews. It increases my somewhat drafty (large windows) 12x11 room by 8-10 degrees in one hour, then only a couple of degrees in the next hour. During the first 20 minutes, it heats the room by four degrees. It's a bit louder than I expected. The "thermostat" does not seem to monitor the temperature, but rather determines various on-off cycles, such as on four minutes on, one off, or one minute on, four off.

My Mom had one for several years and now I'm using it. I bought another for my bedroom. I use it to heat bathroom before my bath or set in bedroom to preheat it. Second one is in computer room. It keeps me from turning up furance. I like the the different settings but there's no safety tip over feature. That's OK 'cause I don't have children. It is noisy. All and all, it's a fair value for the money.

This is the best little heater on the market. This is our second purchase; our first heater finally stopped working after 6 years of regular use during the winter months-not bad for a heater that costs less than $15.00. It warms up large and small rooms very fast. I know several people who also bought the same heater and love it as well.

All metal, looks well made. Two heat settings. Puts out 750 and 1500 watts. Its small compact size makes it versatile for me to set on kitchen counter to warm and dry hands. I knocked off one star because of the very stiff vinyl of electric cord. The 3 wire flat design coming out of side rather than a round cord out the back makes arranging the cord about as handy as coiling a frozen garden hose. Despite the cord this is more than worth the money. You probably won't be as picky as me.
