Lands' End Men's Classic Squall Jacket

This is a great 25-50 degree jacket. It's the perfect Spring jacket for Montana. Windproof, repels rain/snow and fits as expected. Only gave it 4 stars because it is a bit noisy when you move around in it, but the other attributes are worth the noise factor.

This is the second Squall Jacket I purchased. These are great all round jackets. They are warm, water resistant and wind resistant. They hold up well in elements and are stylish. The quality is good, as I find in almost all my Lands End purchases. Very happy with this jacket.

I bought this jacket and I am pleased with it overall except the zipper fastening is flawed and necessitates aligning the bottom bracket in place before sliding the insert pin to start the zipping up. At first I thought it was a minor inconvenience and let it go, but the more I used it the more annoying it became to me and decided it was enough to initiate a replacement, only to discover I'm 2 days over 90 days and out of the window to have the defect replaced. So do watch out for the zipper mechanism if you buy this jacket and get it promptly addressed if it is defective.

I would really like this jacket except for one problem. It has a storm flap on the inside which seems to serve no other purpose than to jam the zipper when you pull up on it. It gets jammed and will not go up any further nor will it go down. Sometimes enough tugging will unstick it but sometimes it requires pulling the jacket off over the head then turning the jacket inside out and working the flap back and forth for a few minutes to work it out of the zipper. Other than that it is a great jacket. It is otherwise well made. Very warm and with a layer underneath it is suitable for all but the coldest days.

The previous version/model (2017 or 2018??) was longer. Meaning from shoulder to middle of butt area. Where as this latest version is 2.5" shorter. So when you raise your arm or stand up from sit position, the bottom of jacket runs up to the waist. Then I constantly trying to pull it down. Also the zipper of the previous version/model is better quality than the current. The rest of jackets of both versions are about the same.
