The quality of this shirt seems ok, although not as good as some other brands. But I wanted something in this color, without a logo. The shirt is long, which I don't mind as I want it to stay tucked in while horseback riding. But it is super wide, more "big & tall" than classic/regular fit. I tried to shrink it in the wash, and the length seemed to end up a bit shorter, but the wideness was still there. I'm keeping it as I can still use for riding lessons, and at least it's not too tight, but I would have preferred a more fitted (not slim) fit.
Living in FL, finding heavier weights that drape but still breathe is crucial. Most Polos here are T-Shirts with collars and don't look good unless you're thin or really athletic, of which I am neither. Especially with sale pricing, this is one of the best values in men's clothing. You can dress down a more formal outfit or dress up a more casual one. This polo is at home in all appropriate settings.
I bought several different colors of this shirt so I could wear the untucked. While the shirts fit well in the shoulder and chest area, the shirt tails are all different lengths. The difference between the shortest and the longest is about four inches. None are the same length. Only the shortest one can be worn untucked, the other are too long. I washed the shirts thinking they might shrink some, but the washing did not affect the shirt tail length. Other than the shirttail lengths the shirt seem to be okay. These were the first shirts I have purchased from Lands End that I have been disappointed with.
My husband loves these shirts. And at these prices, I ordered several for future gifts. He wears them all through the Spring, Summer and even Autumn as we live in a temperate climate. He is an outdoor man and these shirts look so good on him. The fabric launders well, and these shirts last for years. They run a bit big, but my husband prefers his shirts to run large. He says it gives him greater range of movement.
Why can't companies like Lands End leave well enough alone. Why Spandex in what's always been an all-cotton shirt? Why isn't the tail in back longer than the one in front? What used to be a great shirt is now kind of mediocre. Bring back the old ones, please!
