lands' end men's short sleeve comfort-first mesh polo shirt black

I only buy Land's End mesh polos. They are used as daily work shirts. They are made well; they are durable and fit well. I hope Land's End carries more colors year round, brings back solid polos with different color liners and has more variety in fabric thickness. They are worth the investment.

Happy with my two polos. Fit great, look polished. However: On opening, immediately noticed perfume/cologne smell. Popped one shirt out of bag, stronger odor. The shirt had no fold creases. Two hints this was not new. While I completely understand reselling returns, this shirt was not fit to repackage. Anyone with a nose would have pulled it. Poor experience any time, worse in a pandemic.

The quality of this shirt seems ok, although not as good as some other brands. But I wanted something in this color, without a logo. The shirt is long, which I don't mind as I want it to stay tucked in while horseback riding. But it is super wide, more "big & tall" than classic/regular fit. I tried to shrink it in the wash, and the length seemed to end up a bit shorter, but the wideness was still there. I'm keeping it as I can still use for riding lessons, and at least it's not too tight, but I would have preferred a more fitted (not slim) fit.

I usually but the Pima cotton polos. Tried the mesh polo purchased 2 last year. After 10 -12 washes, the colors faded and pilled somewhat and button holes kept unbuttoning, seemed to stretch, although the overall fit was fine. I'm 5' 11” 170 and wear a medium tall regular fit. The tall stays tucked in when swinging the golf club. Contacted customer service and I'm sending the mesh shirts back for store credit. Typical excellent customer service from lands end. Never had quality issues with other lands end garments as a 30 year customer. The Pima cotton shirt lasts forever and it's worth spending a few bucks more. Doesn't lose its shape or fade. I have several pima's that 5 years old and worn many times.

I love the new stretch polos.The stretch makes it easy to put the shirt on my husband who has ms (I'm his caregiver). I really love the new fresh colors--sprout, phlox, sea mist blue, and blue solitude. Now, how about a bright lilac or lavender color?
