The kids love this product, but it seems very poor design to include only 8MB of memory. I can buy an SD card that could easily hold all the books available on leap reader for a few dollars, but this product can only hold about 4-5 books at a time. So if your children like to read a large variety of books like mine do, you will spend more time on the computer loading and unloading books onto it than your kids will actually using the product. Unfortunately this is the case with next pen too. It also only holds a handful of books.

We asked Grandpa and Grandma for this gift and now I feel bad about it. The concept itself is fantastic and my 3y/o loves it! However people buy us more books to use with it, but if you notice, there's only 8MB of memory!!!What!?! We now own several of the "sets" and you can only do one set at a time--so when she wants to read from both sets, I can't let her! :( Then I have to connect the Leap Jr. to the computer, remove one set, add the other, etc, etc, etc. You get the picture--it ruins the novelty, the love of the books, and the toy itself--when a toddler doesn't know which books they can/can't read--well, it's not going to last long. It's too bad, because we really like the idea and it's so easy for her to use.

This is our second Tag Junior so we obviously like them. The books are great and both my boys love them. My biggest disappointment has been the lack of memory space. I want to be able to load ALL our books. My boys like to mix it up and it is a pain to have to up load and delete books all the time. They are also chew threw batteries so longer battery life or a rechargeable version would be good.

This toy is cute. My son calls him puppy. I would love to say that this toy is great. It has nice interactive features, and it had my son's not so common name in its database. But I am a bit disappointed with the memory. It is supposed to hold 5 books, which is already limited, but when I went to load the books I have on the "puppy" he only could hold 4 books. Needless to say I will not be purchasing new books anytime soon, because I do not want to have to plug the toy into the computer every time my son wants to read a new book. This was a gift, and I do like it. I probably would not have purchased it myself as I do not think that the value is there. There are pretty great reading apps for tablets that my son enjoys just as much. They are free. I already have the tablet so it is a better deal for me. If you want your child to have the same experience that a tablet offers but with a physical book, then this would be the closest thing. It is very cute, just not convenient.

Love the idea & the potential for learning is phenomenal...the teacher in me loves that! However, I have to say that I am more than a little bit disappointed that it only has about 8 MB of memory. That is ridiculously low in this day an age of gigabytes!!! We bought him five books(plus the one that came with Scout reader) & the flashcards set, but can only put five things on at a time...really?!?! Crazy low given the amount of things available for this particular item. Not to mention, that you have to go back online to remove/add books, wait for it to download, & now we have to have a separate storage place for the items not currently downloaded or risk frustrating the 20-month-old that can't get all of his books to read to him, when he so chooses:( We'd have gladly paid more for additional memory.
