Many reviews state that the helicopter doesn't fly, my 8 year old has no problem with this. When pulling the cord you must also extend the helicopter hand, akin to shooting a bow, for best effect. This thing slams into the ceiling and we have to angle it so it will fly across the room instead of straight up. Especially fun times when you bring this thing to a park and really let it loose. Finally, the helicopter is fine. All those complaining about it not flying are due to user error.

People don't like this set because they are probably thinking about the ninjago ones, which fly better because they are a different design. This is a helicopter, which means it flys differently. Just remember pull the cord hard and giving a little push. This is a genius idea and set!

I love LEGO but this set is terrible mainly because it says “Flying Helicopter” on the box and it does no such thing. Did the designers even try this??? Do better LEGO.
