LEGO - Sunflowers Building Toy Set 40524

My now grown sons played with Legos most all their childhood. We gifted our grandson with his dad's TUBS of Legos not long ago. I enjoy building sets with him. This sunflower set was ALL MINE though and I LOVE IT! I added them to my vase of the flowers I've built thus far :)

I wish there were more pieces to it. It's really neat . My youngest son, who is 19 btw, (haha), has built all the botanical gardens ones for me.... they're beautiful. I started getting him legos when he waa 3 years old and he has built the biggest and best things ever. Even recreated the titanic on his own with all the pieces he had from random kits. He has alot of them all in one piece that he built as a little boy. He is very creative. I just wish there was some sort of vase or something to go with the sunflowers. More to it than just two flowers and that's it. Just seems sort of out of place.

I recently had the pleasure of assembling the Sunflower LEGO set with my son, and it turned out to be a fantastic experience. I was so very excited to purchase these sunflowers on January 1, but they were delayed with no info on actual release date. I checked the website (almost) daily to see if they were in stock, and finally was able to order the set on January 18th. Sunflowers are my absolute favourite flower, so I built the set as soon as it arrived yesterday. I found the outer petals to be flimsy (they become unclipped easily), that it was a rather simplistic/underwhelming build experience, and there is little room for customization. I added orange leave to the inner part for a little variety on one of the flowers, but those leaves don't come in reds or other colours to try and make other (more unique) sunflower varieties. That said, please add more to the Botanical Collection! Although I wasn't super happy with this set, any new plants or flowers would be very welcome :)
