I ordered the LW1816ER for my elderly parents. The unit cools very efficiently so far but the compressor is very loud and annoying. It's hard to hold a conversation when the unit is on. I'm so disappointed since I trusted LG to make a good product based on the strength of their brand in other product categories. Users should not have to yell to hold a conversation because of an air conditioner in the room. The Midea and their previous Comfort-Aire AC units are much quieter brands. I wish I could return and get my money back but they just started using the unit since the weather has been mild and now it's 6 days past the window to return for a full refund.

This is a great A/C we bought this to replace our old one that started not cooling the house anymore. It worked great cooled the house like ours did when it was new. We loved our old one searched for the same one but it was no longered made, this was as close as we could get and it worked great.

it cools and that is the only nice thing about it. Its big and LOUD. Don't plan on doing anything in the same room as this monster, but it was cheaper than the $20,000 quote i got for a new heat and air unit...

Upon opening box, it was very clear that this item was not new. We decided to install it anyway figuring it didn't matter if it was new or not as long as it worked. The unit did not work, the outlet was getting power but the ac wasn't. The buttons on the plug weren't clicking so I'm thinking that may have been the culprit. Either way, I scheduled a pickup to return the item. And will be ordering from Amazon instead.
