LG - 2.0 Cu. Ft. Over-the-Range Microwave with Sensor Cooking and EasyClean - Stainless steel

Had this unit for a hair over 13 months and the magnetron blew. Replaced it with the same model and it only lasted 6 months and blew the power supply. LG, until now, had a very good reputation with me. Not any more. The microwaves, based on repeated failures, are garbage. Thoroughly disappointed.

We love the microwave and it is really quiet and easy to use. One thing we noticed is the view window is half the size of the door and is hard to look in. The glass goes to the bottom of the door but the viewing tint stops half way. It could be better and I'm not sure why this was done! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I would be interested if LG would explain why the viewing window was changed. Unfortunately, I didn't read these reviews before replacing my previous LG microwave with this one. Also, it was extremely annoying that my old LG, LMV1813ST which lasted 8 years, had three screws in the top and this model, which is the same width, has two screws in different locations, required new holes to be drilled in the cabinet. I purchased another LG, expecting the same features and an easy installation and was disappointed. Also, the previous microwave had two lights over the stove and this only has one. Not sure if this product is what I was looking for? but too late now... 1) anyway, the dark grey inside finish is much more gloomy that I had anticipated! 2) there's no "quick select" options, eg: pressing 1 on the keypad for 1 min, press 2 for 2 mins, etc - very disappointing! now I actually have to LEARN how to operate it! 3) viewing window too small and not placed in a reasonable location 4) LED display is too small overall, VERY disappointing! does NOT meet expectations! Purchased in July 2017 had good reviews. I found that the touch pad requires a lot of pressure to respond. I also don't like that I can not just push the 1 or any other number and just have microwave start -requires the number than two 0's to be entered and then the start button. I did not think that the clock not staying visible would be a problem upon buying the unit, however I do find that I miss not seeing time on display. (how much energy can that really save anyway?)
