LG - 5.2 Cu. Ft. High Efficiency Front-Load Washer with Steam and TurboWash Technology - Graphite steel

I love this machine. It's attractive.. It does a great job washing and sanitizing, It gets rid of mites and other pests from sheets. The pedestals store needed supplies.especially when you are cramped for space. The steam helps in the sanitization, so ypur wash comes out sparking I also love the 14 different dial options that let me select what ever clean method I want.. The excellent manual tells the user exactly what each option does.

We bought an LG washing machine as a replacement for an older washing machine. It's a very good unit in every way. The only problem so far is that the control panel is not backlit. We called LG to see if we can turn a light on the control panel, and the tech said it depends on the model. He does not know which model comes with a backlit control panel. I don't know why LG did not think about the back light or at least make the panel a lighter color -- or provide us with a flash light. Other than that we are assuming this machine it will last us a long time. After 2 weeks of using the new LG we don't have any complaints. It's very quiet and very stable. We recommend this unit -- but with a flash light, of course.

I like the size of the washer. It easily holds my king size bedding. However, when I close the door after completing my washing the tube fills with water. I always leave the door and the soap dispenser open after washing when it gets dry I close them both. If I close the washer door there is water inside. I have to do a drain and spin before I can wash again.

The panel design is very poorly done. It is so dark I have to use flash light to see my selections, especially the bottom line. Of course you can see it when you select the temperature, speed and such but the ones that doesn't have background light is not legible. Such as, Wash Temp., Spin Speed, Soil Level, Signal can't be read hardly at all. Poor, poor design!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I bought this washer because my Samsung top load went to the bone yard after only six years. I wanted the efficiency of a front loader, but the size of a top loader, and I found this 5.2 cu of a beauty! It's big enough to wash all of my doggie beds, blankets, towels, and comforters with ease! I am in awe of how dry everything comes out of a cycle as well. The dryer takes less time to dry everything. Our clothes smell fresher after being washed in this machine, too, so I know it's cleaning our clothes so much better! So far I am very happy with my purchase!
